The South Carolina Republican Party has a new video out, and not to ruin the suspense for you but its ethnically-balanced cast bears absolutely no connection to reality and will probably make you want to blow chunks all over your computer monitor.
Oh, and every single line of this “vomit-mercial” is something you have absolutely, positively, 100% heard before – invariably from some redneck white Republican politician who then turned around and voted precisely the opposite way.
Seriously, people. Is this what new SCGOP Chairman Karen Floyd is spending her party’s dwindling resources on?
Because we can write fantasy, too. Like Pegasus flying in with Harry Hamlin on its back saying “I’m a Republican, too.”
Listen people, if the preceding decade of virtually uninterrupted Republican rule in South Carolina has taught us anything, it’s that the GOP can “talk” about being in favor all sorts of things. It’s actually DOING those things that has proven to be incredibly problematic. In fact, South Carolina Republicans have more often than not done the exact opposite of what their platform says – particularly with respect to taxes, spending and education.
“Conservative?” Please. These people are all lucky they didn’t get hit by lighting while they were filming this abortion.
Oh, and just out of curiosity … what’s up with the head and shoulders shot of Floyd at the end of this clip?
Tsk, tsk, tsk. Like the party you’re leading, you gotta “show us, not tell us,” K-Flo. Sheesh. No wonder fund raising at GOP headquarters is so slow these days …

Farce. There are some things here that would be great if they were true.
Props for the Clash of the Titans reference.

Grand OLD Party. I doubt any of them were under 30.

They aren’t Joe Wilson’s kind of republicans – that’s for damn sure

i especially liked the “happy” all male couple at the beginning of the video featuring the guy with the gherry curls and the guy in the red blazer who looked aghast when his “friend” admitted he was all for the GOP. Talk about coming out of a closet.

It was puke-a-lishious.
The GOP needed a strong conservative with integrity. What we got was a marketing executive with a bad hair-do.
This is not the solution to the GOP’s problem.

I like the video.

Well they are certainly my kind of Republicans! I love the video and think its great for a website. South Carolina is much more than Mark Sanford and Joe Wilson. I think Karen Floyd is on to something here. My hat is off to her. And IF the fundraising is slow around the GOP look to your good friend Mark Sanford. Hey maybe he will write a big “I’m sorry” check or at the very least an IOU!

Anyone else notice that the fuller remarks are all by white speakers? The black woman says two, or maybe three, words.
By R September 15, 2009 at 7:31 pm
I like the video too. What’s wrong with it? And what do you mean, spending resources on? It was a white background with people spliced together, not hard to do.
By K-Flo September 15, 2009 at 8:51 pm
K-Flo is a R.I.L.F.
When did that happen?

“…like Pegasus flying in with Harry Hamlin on its back saying “I’m a Republican, too.”
LOL!

Wow, what a stereotype. It started to get creepy around the one minute mark. I don’t think its a good idea to mix political ideology with social ideology, not all Republicans think the same nor do they have to. Other than that….
There is only one way in this country to get messages like this across peoples minds
Hot chicks and bitchin’ Camaro’s blasting Van Halen
WORKS
EVERY
TIME
Thats right, I used the word bitchin’

Matter of fact I think FITTS is perfect to make and showcase a video to espouse the “cool” side of Republicans with the above theme.

I like the lines about decreasing dependence on foreign oil and bailouts are bad business. BAD BUSH! BAD!

DJ – I like your idea. I don’t know if it will work, but the visual of what you are proposing will keep me up late tonight, smiling, hoping and praying for your vision to come to fruition.

They scooped these specimens out of a Golden Corral, didn’t they?
The only thing missing was, “I’m a Republican because I believe the earth is only 6,000 years old.”
By Pat Hendrix September 16, 2009 at 9:16 am
No, no, no. Floyd has totally missed an opportunity to give the SCGOP some street cred.
These guys could be the answer:

Could this disaster be the work of a certain “GOP Strategist” who’s cuddled up nicely with the new leadership?

BirdsIView,
You can thank Wesley Donehue for this trainwreck…. along with the communist style sickle in the new logo.
