What is the world coming to?
Seriously, people. It’s one thing to watch a President get interrupted during a joint session of the U.S. Congress … but interrupting someone during their MTV Video Music Awards acceptance speech?
That is truly beyond the pale.
And yet here – in the latest example of the nonexistent decorum of this nation – rapper Kayne West rudely interrupts country star Taylor Swift during her MTV acceptance speech for Best Female video.
Sheesh … is nothing sacred? Well, other than Hennessey’s ability to get people good and sauced?
To her credit, Beyonce (who won the “Video of the Year” award later that night) invited Swift to come onstage and give the acceptance speech she didn’t get to give the first time around.
Classy …
Now, onto the conspiracy theories … since MTV has been known to stage “sensational” incidents like this in an effort to keep its awards show relevant, is Kayne’s outburst authentic or yet another publicity stunt for the flagging network?

That was a pretty classy move by Beyonce; props to her. And, Swift’s acceptance could have & should have slammed Kayne, but didn’t: “maybe we could try this again”, is also pretty gracious.

MTV quit being relevant to the mainstream media, music industry, and most folks over 21 when they stopped playing music (at least a decade ago).

I feel that MTV pretty much lost all cool factor (for lack of a better term) when Beavis and Butthead went off the air. MTV, seems to me, couldn’t have those two slamming on all the stuff MTV decided they had to be all about.

Maybe if Kanye were a better singer, he might win an award and can interrupt his *own* acceptance speech with his drunken tirade.
