Everybody Has Tourette’s

open mouth

Whether it’s a symptom (of this country’s ongoing stealth civil war) or a syndrome (Tourette, as a matter of fact), nobody’s filter seems to be intact.

First it was South Carolina state representative Joe Wilson, who spoke perhaps the most succinct incendiary declaration of all time -and with that duo of ill-advised fightin’ words breathed life into the war that almost wasn’t.

Then tennis star Serena Williams went all “oh-no-you-didn’t” at the U.S. Open, a move which ultimately cost her the match.

Now it’s pseudo-subversive rapper Kanye West who’s headlining news for his whacko outburst at last night’s MTV VMA awards show.

During country star Taylor Swift’s crossover moment, West stormed the stage, yanked from Swift the microphone, and yakked about Beyonce deserving Taylor’s award for Best Female Video.

(Swift, incidentally, was rocking drop-dead-red lips, the likes of which I’ve brought back in style in a hurry. Good for you, Taylor … way to be with-it).

For her part, Beyonce showed remarkable grace, using her own acceptance speech to invite Swift back onstage for a proper recognition.

For what it’s worth, we’re kind of liking this new filter-free trend. Verbal recklessness is a FITSNews trademark, and we’re glad to see that it’s finally catching on.

‘Bout time . . .
