“You Lie” Another Embarrassment For SC

you lie joe wilson

Amazingly, that red-faced redneck who looks like he’s about to burst a blood vessel isn’t some disgruntled University of South Carolina football fan screaming at his crappy team from the cheap seats on game day.

That, ladies and gentleman, is U.S. Congressman Joe Wilson – who chose a joint session of Congress to scream “You Lie” at an admittedly awful President addressing a skeptical nation about an exceedingly awful (and un-American) idea.

Did Wilson’s “You Lie” stunt make the news?  Uhh … it was the top story on Google News Wednesday night …

you lie

That’s more not-so-fortunate press for South Carolina, which was already reeling from the months-long tragi-comedy that our mentally deteriorating “Luv Gov” has put us through.  Seriously, people … has it ever been this bad for the Palmetto State?

Honestly, what was Wilson thinking?

Has he looked at Obama’s poll numbers lately?  “The One” is friggin’ tanking … which means the point of anyone yelling at him (in the middle of a speech, no less) escapes us. “Not interrupting your opponent when they are making a mistake” is obviously a lesson Joe Wilson never learned, which given the quality of our public school system here in South Carolina is probably understandable.

Anyway, you can read much more about Wilson’s outburst (and vote in our online poll) by clicking here

If there was any chance the Democrats would really let this one slip through their fingers because of intraparty Blue Dog vs. Progressives squabbling and not pass something, that chance was definitely kissed goodbye with Joe Wilson’s stupid and disrespectful stunt… so as a Democrat, I say, thanks Joe Wilson!

Joe always struck me as having the personality of a small-town undertaker — Pickens, maybe.

Now, out of the blue, he screeches at Obama like a meth-addled mullet-head.

While I think Mr. Wilsons outburst was untimely, in a way it was refreshing. Americans are sick of being lied to and sicker of the political correctness that warrents everyone clapping everytime Obama opens his mouth, regardless of what comes out.

Let’s look at reality. Our government is doing nothing to protect US citizens from the illegals. They come and go as they please, steal identities, and please don’t tell me they were not largely responsible for the housing colaspe, because they were (with the help of Acorn and wussy banks fearing the intimidation they exert.) Nope nothing from the government. They use the emergency room like it is there just for them and their families, don’t give a damm about how it affects the people that have paid for their care and will be back tomorrow if they want to.

So this government that has encouraged (through lack of enforcement) illegals to come to America for the unions and big corporations who want cheap labor are now going to not give the free medical perk any longer? I do believe Mr. Wilson had every reason to yell “you lie” but likely shouldn’t have done it for political reasons, but you know, people are just fed up with lies.

Lets see, we have the inefficient Post Office, the sensitive IRS and the broke Medicare and Medicade under the government. Car dealers are complaining they have not seen one red cent from cash for clunkers and we are supposed to turn over our medical care system to this bunch of jokers? Maybe Barney Frank could head it up, that would be icing on the cake.

No, the real reason Obama is threatening our medical system is for about 1 percent of Americans (this figure becomes inflated when you add the millions of illegals who the government does nothing about) who do not have insurance. Obama made promises to the lazy, the crack dealers, the over populated families who had more kids than they can afford and the falsly disabled (migraines, stubbed toes, mistical ailments that cannot be identified, etc.) He promised them he would add to the social systems they already enjoy for free, without one days worth of work expected of them. He promised and just is saying f***k you Americans who work, f***k you people who don’t want to pay for my supporters, f**k you Rebublicans who know I’m lying, just F**k you all because my supporters need some more social programs. This is social justice (which he mentioned in his speech) to him. He was brought up with this mind set, surrounded himself with radical left wing nuts, continues to hire them and no one is going to tell me that when Americans are struggling like never before to keep their head above water they should now have to pay for those that don’t even try. Enough is enough. All the illegals and those who don’t work but could looking for another handout need to move to Canada.

    Some facts…

Steven A. Camarota is the Director of Research at the Center for Immigration Studies.

    ——————————————————————————–

Based on our analysis of Census Bureau data, we estimate that there are 6.6 million uninsured illegal immigrants in the United States who could be covered by the new health care reform bill (HR 3200). Even though HR 3200 states that illegal immigrants are not eligible for the proposed taxpayer-funded affordable premium credits, there is nothing in the bill to enforce this. An amendment was defeated in committee that would have required the use of the Systematic Alien Verification for Entitlements (SAVE) program, used by almost all other means-tested programs of this kind.

    Among the findings:

•We estimate that there were 6.6 million illegal immigrants without health insurance in 2007 who had incomes below 400 percent of the poverty level, which is the income ceiling for the proposed affordable premium credits.

•If all uninsured illegal immigrants with incomes below 400 percent of poverty received the proposed credits, the estimated cost to the federal government would be $30.5 billion annually.

•We estimate the current cost of treating uninsured illegal immigrants at all levels of government to be $4.3 billion a year, primarily at emergency rooms and free clinics.

While I am more sickened by the antics of the Republican Party, especially in SC, I must Wilson’s outburst was justified. It is how the majority of America feels right now. Nor do I fail to realize that the Democratic party is without shame, certainly at least 2 in Chesterfield County. The majority of ALL politocos in this country, locally, statewide, and nationally, should be ashamed.

We realize that we cannot depend on or trust Republicans or Democrats, generally speaking, and are tired of the never-ending rhetoric.

As long as one person in politics, any one person, will stand up and protest the dangerous tomfoolery in DC, great. I am not ashamed.

I am ashamed of Sanford, the noodlebacks in SC politics, the spin doctors in the press, and everyone else who will not stand up to this administration and the one before it and let them know just how exhausted everyone is of government in general.

The Louisiana Representative who spoke in response to Obama’s speech, or someone like him, needs to be in Obama’s position. He stated plainly what Republicans’ goals and objectives are, what they agree and disagree with, and why. Obama did no such thing, except make more promises he can’t keep, and continued with the “just hold on a little longer, America, good things are coming rhetoric.”

I do not approve of the use of the term Nazi, as it is a horrible insult to all who suffered under the Nazi Regime, and I do not agree with racial slurs or insulting anyone’s family, as has been done, but I do agree with the fundamental ideas behind what protesters of this administration is saying and doing. We’re not facing socialism, communism, or any other “ism” except faschism. It reared it’s head 1st under George W. and his cronies.

Our government stopped listening years ago, in all parties, locally, statewide, and nationally. Those who did listen did little more than hear. Perhaps we need to shout and stop playing nice. Our government isn’t even playing fair. They have sent our jobs overseas, waged unnecessary wars, made a good part of this nation a prison population, ignored education, ignored a collapsing infrastructure, experimented on American soldiers and ignored their health needs, and all the while live like royalty while we suffer the consequences.

Perhaps Wilson is smart enough to realize that if he doesn’t protest in this manner, he will be viewed as one of the politicos sitting back and letting this country go down the drain. Now is not the time to sit back and be quiet amongst all the rhetoric. Even Obama stated that now is the time for action.

However, that having been said, it seems likely to me that interjecting a manifest idiocy such as “Not-for-profit insurance” would only make things much, much worse. Perhaps one day, when we secure not-for-profit government, we can revisit this idea.

WTF??? What’s wrong with you people. Does anyone remember what was done and said about Pres. Bush??(to which I was not a fan of) If anything you maggot yankees crying about how Joe is making us look bad, should go back to your fruited urban hell holes you call the North. Sic why is he a redneck? Beacuse he is a white republican? Is there a little white guilt sic? Please let us know. To the people including Sic and staff who bash SC as a bunch of rednecks.. get the Fu$% out why not move to the north and stop trying to “change” things here. Please take your white guilt else where. Since you all are so “educated” im sure you can find jobs up there….Oh wait the unions have destroyed most jobs in the “great” north. I had never heard of Joe until last night so I have no vested interest in the matter. The only thing he should have apologized for was if this F-ing bill passes or any like there of.

    Dear Pat Hendrix,

I voted for Obama, hoping for the change he promised and swore by the Democratic party. I no longer subscribe to either party. I don’t need to provide you with a poll, look it up for yourself, watch the news, read a newspaper, attend a tea party, or simply ask people you come in contact with about their opinions, and listen to what the majority of them say.

I respect your opinion, but this entire country is now a wilderness. If things do not change, it will become a bigger one. I doubt anyone knows the way out, past and current administrations included. I’m happy for you if the system is one that works for ya, but it isn’t working for the majority of the U.S.

Wilson may have been out of order but he certainly is correct.
What a waste of time all this banter i read here is – makes me realize why there is so much dysfunction.

Charles’ citation from Steven A. Camarota is the Director of Research at the Center for Immigration Studies is the most important fact here. And i think their numbers are way way low. The number of illegals is more like 40 million and not 6.

Regardless, how can we sustain ourselves as a country with a middle class by not controlling our borders? The elitists have hated the middle class forever and this is one more step towards assuring its destruction.

Ya ever notice how this country has turned from calling it for what it is? We wrap it in all kinds of obfuscation, politeness, civility, being nice etc….but what are we really doing except refusing to call it for what it is…Joe called it a lie, and the Obama administration and their minions haven’t proven that Joe lied. Seems to me, thats a validation that Joe called it for what it is. Argue all you please about honor, decorum, civilty….it don’t mean a thing when an honest man looks you in the eye and tells the world you lie. Go Joe, here’s one transplant that believes you did the right thing, and those around you that complain today of what they did in years past….you’re the man and I’m proud of ya.

I, like millions of others, cheered Joe on when he finally blurted what everyone is thinking. Code Pink disrupted and booed Bush and his administration continuously. Protestors ruined John MCain’s nomination speech. Why exactly is he an embarrassment to SC? He makes me proud to be from SC. WE are the ‘progressive’ state, along with Texas, that doesn’t sit by like ninnies when we are lied to. You’re off base on this one. The Republicans should have back benched the entire speech. It’s this wussy behavior that got us in the fix we are in now. Too bad no one screamed LIAR at him while he lied his way through the campaign. Too bad McCain couldn’t locate his testicles to call him out on his lies. The only one who did was Sarah Palin; and the left went nuts. Lindsay Graham is attacked by his party for going along to get along, and Wilson is attacked for speaking truth to power. No wonder the GOP is sucking wind right now.

While you may agree Rep. Wilson may be right in his statements, he needs to be held to standards better than that. Whether you agree with the POTUS or not, heckling him during a joint assembly of Congress is not the place to do it. Have a press conference and call him a liar, or send out a press release or go on Fox News, but for God’s sakes, national prime time TV where as long as I can remember no one has “called out” the POTUS. It is simple decorum, and the R’s are so beaten up right now, they’ll even throw that out the window.

But hey, Joe is from Lexington County which really explains his stance, it has nothing to do with R versus D, taxes, health care, it has to do with race, and he probably picked up points and dollars from these ass backwards folks who constantly vote against themselves, without realizing it, because this is a black and white issue.

Being a highly educated “Redneck” from SC, and a Republican, I find it inappropriate how the truth was presented. I understand emotions are running high but to lose control would be almost as bad as the censorship the democratic party has placed on the media (almost). I suggest you liberal minded candy-asses find something in this world larger than yourself because life is not worth living if there is nothing worth dying for.

I love the racist comments coming from some fat loser behind a keyboard who is living with their parents and have probably never had a black person in their community. Yes, racism exists in the south and it goes both ways but you also have to remeber we are dominated by poor communities where whites and blacks have worked side by side for a long time. We may go to our own churches (yes you hipster atheist – most of us do believe in a God)but we repsect each other not based on our skin but the simple fact we are human beings.

At some point you mindless socialists will learn that you can’t ride on the backs of others forever. You will eventually get kicked off.

Anybody who was watching CNN this morning will find out that they proved that illegal immigrants will be covered under the House bill. Republicans made amendment proposals to limit access of the health insurance to illegal immigrants but these amendments were struck down by the Democrats.

So when Joe inappropriately said “You Lie!” he was telling the truth. Yet, it was inappropriate. Let Obama hang himself Joe…

Wow! I am still amazed at comments about illigals and health care. I guess one, you are an American Indian, because otherwise we are all immigrants and plenty of us did not come through with a binder of documents at Ellis Island or elsewhere…just the clothes on our back, no major diseases that could be identified by looking in your mouth, eyes, and nose…and no lice.

Second, you must have a full time job with an employer who offers health care with reasonable copayments etc. My employer doesn’t offer healthcare to part-timer employess (less than 30 hours a week)even at a higher premium. Why am I less valuable to the company at 29 hours a week than an employee working 40 hours a week…my work wouldn’t be getting done if someone wasn’t there to do it. If my husband did not have health insurance through this hospital employer (ER nurse seeing plenty of “illegals” and legals of all colors and nationalities without health insurance) I guess we might not go to the doctor for well child visits, immunizations, and those sick visits either at $90-$150 a pop!

Stop being so self-centered and try caring about others a little more because I bet you or your ancestors had some help along the way too!

It suggests there is a lot of anxiety out there, which makes sense considering the economy and escalating deficits, but it does not suggest Joe Wilson is the voice of anything beyond a bunch of sore losers.

I have lived here all my life and have never seen the intolerance of such stupid people on public display like the SC GOP has shown the rest of America. Our state needs to take pride in ourselves and our elected leaders but our leaders need to not be so fu**ing stupid. I foresee a major shift toward the Democratic party nationwide and maybe even in the last bastion of racially charged moronic politicians like South Carolina.

Joe Wilson said exactly what I was saying on the couch while watching the “Liar in Chief” deliver a ridiculous speech last night. He has the votes. I mean his own party does not support this “reform” Joe spoke for millions last night who do not want to see their healthcare turned into another government red tape nightmare. As a physician, I resent Obama’s thoughts that doctors support his reform. He could not be further from the truth. Only 17% of us belong to the AMA. Most of us do not due to their liberal minded views. Joe is right about illegal care. I don’t give a damn about my tax money going to illegals for care. I take care of 20% of my patients with no reimbursement. It is for the good of the public and health of the individual that sits in front of me. God bless those people and know that we (as physicians) will always keep your best interests at heart! As for Obama, the illegal care will come next when we naturalize all of them! A dirty little secret. Joe Wilson has my full support. While I agree that an interruption may be rude, it is necessary as Obama has czars and others who will not listen. Last night the bastard had to listen!

BTW: Cooter Brown is right! All dem haters can move up north!

Guys – you lost. That’s how elections are handled. It does not matter if “Joe speaks for millions” – it wasn’t a majority.

BTW – this is the same Joe Wilson who told Essie Mae Washington-Williams, the daughter of Strom Thurmond, that she should have kept quiet about her family. You know, how Thurmond had sex with his 16 year old black maid and fathered her? Seems Mr. Wilson has a problem with blacks who don’t know their place.

Im not comforted in your ASSumption that I would not have researched his views before voting. I would vote for him (if his views and mine were like) because he seems to be the only member of Congress that is standing up vocally against this admin. The time and place of his statement are debatable but in a general sense Im glad someone seems to not be terrified of speaking out against the current admin. While I appreciate you taking your time to go after my views as uninformed or whatever misguided point you are trying to make. Not everyone is an idiot.
