SCGOP, Floyd To Call For Sanford’s Resignation
The executive committee of the S.C. Republican Party will hold a conference call this afternoon to discuss the fate of embattled S.C. Gov. Mark Sanford, with multiple sources telling FITS that the party elite will call on its disgraced chief executive to resign.
The call will take place at 5:00 p.m. (EDT), and SCGOP Chairwoman Karen Floyd will reportedly release a letter to the press calling for Sanford’s resignation shortly thereafter.
The committee censured Sanford back in July but stopped short of calling for his resignation, a decision attributed to the pro-Sanford lobbying efforts of Kristin Maguire, the former S.C. Board of Education Chairwoman and executive committeewoman who has since fallen victim to her own scandal.
“We need to go a step further (than censure),” one committeeman told FITS. “All of us acknowledge that now.”
On Wednesday, sixty Republican lawmakers called on Sanford to resign.

Guess he’s going to beat her to the punch
Governor Mark Sanford will hold a media availability at 3:30 p.m. today to “shed light on recent political developments,“ according to his spokesperson. This comes amid growing calls of those within his own party, asking for his resignation.

“Media availability” translation please?
Cohen, clear your busy schedule and sucky call board and assume your front row position. Step out the studio, c’mon now Kevey… yeah it’s scary.
Productive press are busy with other stuff today and don’t have time to be Sanford’s pawn. Don’t call us Mark, we’ll call you.

What is Sanford held a presser and no one came? Not even Maria….
By Anon on September 10th, 2009 at 11:55 am
Why bother calling for his resignation. The only way he will leave is by force; kicking, screaming and insisting everybody else is just as guilty. START IMPEACHMENT TODAY!

Now there are only two right wing groups in the Palmetto State that have still NOT called for Sanford to step down (or at least come clean). They are:
1. SC Chapter of John Birch Society
2. South Carolina Policy Council
One can only assume the Birchers will get around to it after they finish their ongoing anti-fluoridation media campaign.

Karen Floyd?
You mean the woman that took $125,000 of taxpayer money from Andre Bauer to market Senior Shield? Her efforts returned about 4,000 to Senior Shield.
$125,000 – 4,000= $121,000 LOSS.
Bauer and Floyd are not very good stewards of the taxpayers dollars.
Now, these two geniuses are the prime movers behind ousting Sanford. Wonder how much money Governor Bauer can send to Floyd when he get the larger pot of money?

I remember that. Surely, other Republicans don’t have memories that short.
What does she think she’s doing? Is someone leaning on Floyd?

Let’s hope he’ll soon resign and move on … we need to as a state.

The Executive Committee needs to kick Sanford out of the Republican Party. Remove the Republicans from this circus by removing Sanford from the party rolls. With that action, they could easily raise the million and a half that Sanford is sitting on. The Sullivans and the other business leaders who have asked for their money back can make contributions to the party again. Purge the party!!

WTF has happened to my party? Reagan’s 11th Commandment has gone down the toilet… My frustration in dealing with some of the people in my own party has reached the tipping point, Will. I’m about done with being part of the organized SCGOP, and most of it’s elected ‘leaders’ – not that anyone gives a shit. I’ve just spent the past six years working for them for free…

What’s with Sanford’s obsession with David Thomas? Even it they are opponents of sorts- there seems to be a wierd unhealthy, more personal focus Sanford has on Thomas.

Who cares…clearly we made a mistake in electing this woman to head of the party…of, that’s right…there weren’t any other choices.
I enjoyed reading the “Where’s Kristen Mcguire” piece earlier this week…made me wonder where Karen has been since this summer. Other, of course, than at her house raising money for a county party.
Maybe if she pulled an Andre: “If Mark resigns then I promise not to run for anything ever again…” that might influence some people.

Just leave Sanford alone, he is having a hard enough time having to deal with rejecting the Bilderberg Group. Oh, you did’nt know he met with them, go youtube Sandford Builderberg. Why did this come out after meeting with them? He must have rejected the real rulers of the world. How many men don’t fall in the trap when it’s baited with women? Not saying it’s right, but after you fall can’t you repent?
