“Wide Left Saved My Soul”
We knew a girl who knew Jad Dean once.
From our end it was certainly “Biblical,” and based on the former Clemson University placekicker’s new video testimonial it could very well have been “Biblical” from his end as well.
In a surprisingly candid (and deftly-produced) confessional taped for South Carolina’s New Spring Church (with five convenient locations to serve your spiritual needs), Dean admits to “putting a collar on God” so he could go to keggers and lay his mack down with college girls.
All that changed, though, when he pushed a potential game-tying field goal “wide left” against South Carolina in 2006.
“The moment that kick sailed to the left was the moment God began breaking all the previous pride and self-centeredness I had been building up in my life from the day I started paying football,” Dean says in the video.
Grab your hankies, people …
Wow.
Now the only question is “are Clemson fans ready to forgive?”

If we really wanted to balance the state budget we would cut all funding to Clemson University. Besides that a real christian would never attend a school with the reputation that Clemson has.

The mere existence of Clemson casts doubt on the possibility of a merciful Deity.
If God is responsible for Dean’s hook, let me say, as a Gamecock, it’s awfully nice of the Almighty to let us rack up a win in the series every five years or so.

CNSYD-if you took time to look up party schools you will find that Clemson surprisingly is a usual top 25 contender.Let’s not forget the spread Playboy had when it featured girls of the ACC and more were from Clemson than anywhere else,can we say sluts? Besides that we all know why Clemson plays football on grass-so the cheerleaders can graze after the game!The only thing religious about Clemson is getting through cowtown without getting gored!

Darkseid616, I assume the paragon of virtue is usc east. Home of a gay president presenting robes to his boy toys and a women’s basketball coach who eats at the Y. IRT Playboy, I don’t recall ever seeing any “grass grazing cheerleaders” in their mag. I think you have created somewhat of an oxymoron set of statements. As to religious favor that should be obvious to you. Normally rain falls on the unjust as well as the just, but in the Clemson-usc east football series it is obvious that God favors the Tigers in a big way.

Jad Dean is a great kid. Lots of factors played into this guy getting to this point in his life. I wish him only the best. A Clemson fan who was there that night.
