Sixty of seventy-two members of the S.C. House Republican Caucus sent a letter to Gov. Mark Sanford on Wednesday calling on him to resign his office.

The drumbeat against Sanford has grown louder in recent weeks due to revelations that have followed his disclosure of an affair with Argentine lover Maria Belen Chapur earlier this summer.

Thad Viers hahaha, I guess he still feels like his harassing phone calls charge prohibits him from casting stones. As for Haley and Pitts, big surprise, they don’t want to look ad during their runs for statewide office.

Big Ups to Nikki; South Carolina say hello to your next Governor!

Waterfalls Fits!?! I would have thought you would go with this,

So I wonder which ones of those who didn’t sign the letter were the “back chanel(s)” who provided cover for his June trip to Argentina?

Sensible people would let the investigations finish, then take decisions after considered thought. These yahoo’s are feeding off each other, and are salivating at opportunities a Bauer in the mansion would provide them.

Small people in public office is a real problem.

All of the above referenced so called South Carolinans should be defeated if they run for re-election. They are traitors to the people of this state and should be shown no loyality or mercy.

I see Sanfraud staffers are out in force on FITS today.

We are one very very sick party! If I were chairman of the Democratic Party, I would plead with all my members to just continue to “sit by and shut up – the GOP is doing a fine job of killing itself, thank you!” If these 60 members had voted to SUSTAIN instead of OVERturn most of Sanford’s wasteful spending vetoes, there might be enough money left to call a special session and then just take an IED and blow up the entire party. What a joke. This thing would be OLD NEWS if the GOP would just shut up. And as for JR’s comment about Representative Viers, he votes his conscience and he votes conservatively and he had every reason to throw this governor under the bus. He didn’t because he’s one of 12 half-intelligent members.

OH, and CYNSYD, I ain’t no Sanford Staffer.

FITS:
Please update as we understand that Garry Smith (Greenville) did sign the letter.
Joey Millwood will have a very tough re-election Primary.
The real Republicans will work hard to remove him!

I’ve known Thad Viers for years. Obviously, someone with his personal history has no moral high ground at all to criticize Sanford’s publicly defecating on his wife and kids.

As for Haley, she has simply proven conclusively in this one action that she is still Mark Sanford’s puppet. THAT DEBATE IS NOW OVER.

Somewhat knowing/having listened to Joey Millwood, I have no idea why he would not include his name on that list. At least Keith Kelly saw the writing on the wall, and put his name on the list. It’ll sure be hard (impossible) to pull the handle for Millwood from now on…. And poor Nikki Haley, if she only knew how close she actually came to having a true shot at being the governor. I can’t believe she would blindly follow Sanford, and let him destroy her career as well. Oh well, those 12 names sure need to be remembered come next year.

I’m not sure about Shannon Erickson. I know she would never condone such action (as Sanfords). I hope she’s not carrying Davis’ water. Guess we won’t know until we see the Senate list. The lowcountry (Beaufort) delegation has been pretty quiet about this. Sic you played a big roll in both T Davis’ and Erickson’s election. You could now be their undoing. Keep us posted on these two.

Word is Davis insists this will not come to impeachment. Either Guv is exonerated by EC or action will be taken from his end. Paging Nurse Ratched?

Pitts and Haley want the Rich money. Viers, well, after his escapades, would be a hypocrite for calling on anyone else to resign.

By Red Bank Bar on September 10th, 2009 at 3:50 am

Jim Stewart always has been a dumb-arse. If Daddy hadn’t set him up in bidness, he’d be broke. Nice wife, but dumb as he is.

Jim’s had his nose reset from breaking it against Sanford’s better side.

Fascinating how folks are so willing, even eager, to use a broad brush to paint folks into a corner and conveniently leave the truth in the can. So, to “Calhoun” and “madcock” and comments like ” … after his (Viers) escapades, would be a hypocrite for calling on anyone else to resign.” HIS escapades? Presuming you are both male, how would you have dealt with a guy who’s sleeping with your wife and gets her pregnant? Let it go people! When it comes to politicians, it’s about how they vote. Viers votes right 99% of the time. So did Sanford in Congress. And IF the GOP caucus had any sense of fiscal conservatism – or had voted to sustain Sanford’s vetoes as did Viers, we wouldn’t be in half the trouble we’re in. And to Rick Beltram – “real” Republicans wouldn’t have sent this stupid letter and “real” Republicans are sick and tired of RINOS!
