“Capitalism is an evil, and you cannot regulate evil,” filmmaker Michael Moore says at the conclusion of his latest film. “You have to eliminate it and replace it with something that is good for all people and that something is democracy.”
Wait … what? Who is this? Because for a minute there we thought we were reading a transcript of the latest Osama bin Laden video.
Look, the last time we checked capitalism and democracy weren’t mutually exclusive objectives for a society… although we shudder to think what Moore’s definition of “democracy” might be. Our guess is it has something to do with government possessing, (mis)managing and dictating pretty much everything.
“I refuse to live in a country like this – and I’m not leaving,” Moore says of the current iteration of the United States of America, which over the last eight years has drifted – and then dove headlong – toward the sort of socialist society he obviously craves.
So what’ s Moore’s beef, exactly? And is the Battleship Potemkin-style revolution that he’s hoping to incite something that he and his fellow Hollywood elitists are prepared to deal with?
The reality is that Moore – whose net worth is estimated at more than $50 million – is no doubt hoping for some of that “evil capitalism” to work for him (again) at the box office later this month when Capitalism: A Love Story (that’s the name of the “documentary” film) opens in theaters across North America.
Assuming it does well, is Moore planning on “spreading the wealth around” to the collective?
Of course not. Which means he should probably drink a nice tall glass of STFU … or maybe a Slim Fast.

this man should have skipped his sixth meal today, and given it to the poor folks he wants to “save”
Michael Moore should set an example by donating his 50 million dollars… otherwise, he’s a product of the thing he hates. He’s capitalizing on his shit movies…
I hate this bull shit…
By Eric September 7, 2009 at 12:52 am
His definition of Capitalism is really Corporatism, which is a form of socialism.
By Mike September 7, 2009 at 5:45 am
Moore should drink a nice tall glass glass of Prestone so we wouldn’t have to listen to his moronic, whiny rants. “Replace” capitalism with Democracy? Uhhhhhhh, what?!
By Liberty For Me September 7, 2009 at 6:56 am
Not sure you should take advice from someone that dosent know the difference between an economic system and a form of government.DEMOCRACY…the new code for communist…..
Even with the crap socialist school system we have ,Americans are not that stupid.

One simple government solution to the problem of complete douchebags like Michael Moore and the rest of the fathead actors who think the fact they play fake people all their lives and create false images of reality actually have something important to give to society, other than being bleeding heart liberals of course, is for there to be a giant entertainment tax on actors, musicians, and athletes aside, we may be able to make exceptions for football players however…

Michael Moore is misguided on wanting to kill what little capitalism is left in the US. But he points out how corporations today control America. His movie targets the banking industry . And he is spot on detailing how the bankers are in cahoots with our crooked elected officials. Let’s wake up to the truth.
The bankers stole trillions of our dollars in the fall of 2008. And they were assisted with the help of most of our elected crooked politicians. The big bankers should be bankrupt yet are now receiving multimillion dollar bonuses.
Our Congress refuses to audit the Federal Reserve to see where our trillions went. And yet over 75% of Americans want to audit the Federal Reserve. The will of the people does not count and I think that is what Moore is trying to show. He shows the incest in the banking world with the Treasury dept.
Michael Moore has done a very good job pissing off the ill informed right wingers. He pointed out the foolishness of Bush’s catastrophic Iraq war in 2003. Anyone who thinks we should have been in that war has been fed too much propaganda. Moore also detailed how other countries have superior health care. Naturally the war machine and the health industry have spent millions trying to paint Moore as a villain. But he was dead on about Iraq and dead on about how our health care problems too.
Isn’t it bizarre how people are pissed off at Moore when they should be hopping mad with the politicians and bankers who are bankrupting our country?

Isnt it funny that the country he constantly criticizes is the same one who has made him so much money. I guess if he doesnt like capitalism he should GIVE the movie away free, give his home and moeny to the government.
Nah – he will be like all the “rich” libs – demand everyone else give their all away without spending their own money.

Isn’t is curious that MM doesn’t move to Cuba where he can actually live the socialistic dream he “embraces?”
BTW, MM, why not do a “documentary” on Georgie Soros or the Leftist-Legal-Media-Industrial-Complex? Hmmmm….

Let’s not forget that Big Hollywood received billions in tax dollars from Obama’s bail-out…
Gotta’ thank Big Hollywood for gettin’ out that Hope N Change message…
Paid for by our children and grandchildren…

In the past I always dismissed Moore and never watched any of his films. Then one day was I was bored so I watched his film on health care. I don’t buy everything it said but the actions of health insurance companies and their relationship with Congress was spot on. Some of the people he interviewed who told how they had been ill treated could have been me as I have been treated the same way. IRT to the financial sector read Kevin Phillips book, “Bad Money”. No flaming liberal he but he will guide you thru all the “deals” made that allowed the economic crisis to occur and who profited from them.

While waiting for Michael Moore’s movie “Capitalism, A Love Story” to come out, I found another new movie about stock market corruption:“Stock Shock.” From what I hear it is just like MM’s new flick which just premiered at the Venice Film Fest, but “Stock Shock” is shipping now.
The movie follows several Sirius XM investors through their experience of watching their stock go from almost ten dollars a share—-down to 5 cents/share. The movie suggests this might be due to “naked short selling” and other stock market manipulation by high rollers on Wall Street. I don’t know if I’m a believer, but at least it gives a good review of how our stock markets are engineered. Amazon has it or stockshockmovie.com

M. Moore looks really, really hungry in the picture. Feed that man a Twinkie, now!
(At least he’s not a capitalistic pig!)
By roofus September 7, 2009 at 6:41 pm
LOL! What a corpulent hypocrite! I read last year that MM invested tens of thousands in KBR and Halliburton! Just another elitist whose mantra is “Do as I say not as I do!”
By Constant Gina September 7, 2009 at 6:50 pm
leave him alone…he is human…lol
By marvin September 7, 2009 at 9:27 pm
We agree with you, Michael. Politicians shouldn’t be doling out favors to businesses, nor giving them a dime of our money. But that isn’t what you object to. You don’t want democracy at all. You just want us to give our money to businesses — or “organizations” YOU approve of. Now, see, Mikey — that’s not really democracy! Democracy is where government bureaucrats, politicians and loud-mouthed rich elitists like you don’t decide anything for us, especially who gets rich and who doesn’t.

Speaking only of capitalism in America: With what our government has twisted it into, I’d like to see it dead as well. As dead as the career of Moore, who has made his $50 mil from the same system he gripes about.

Peter Griffin is waaaaay more smarter than Michael Moore.

The man’s brilliant. Look at the response from this article alone. Good or bad, you know his name. He’s simply discovered a way to make money, in order to do so, he must act – assume a character. If you think Moore actually believes in his scripts, then please stay on the short bus. You all claim to have principles, but I’m sure (like most) they take a backseat to million dollar contracts. Yuns’ are the hyprocrites!
Keep reading those peer reviewed articles, Fits.
By Sicko September 11, 2009 at 4:39 pm
One of my favorite parts of the movie Sicko was when he had the 9/11 firefighters show up to Guantanamo Bay and ask for the same health care that the terrorists were being given. The firefighters couldn’t receive health care for their problems related to 9/11 and the terrorists had some of the best health care in the world.

This professional complainer is an example of why so many people hate Jews. Big mouthed, but stupid jews like him permanently crippled Russia in 1917: Trotsky, Zinoviev, Kamenev, many others.
Disclaimer: I am a jew.

Fatso Michael Moore urinates in his own beer and drinks it. $50 million net worth and invests in the very companies he speaks out against. If he is not a parasite feeding off the body of capitalism that he and his socialist friends are killing, I don’t know what he is.
By Dr. David Beaman Jr, Ph.D. Economics March 30, 2010 at 12:02 pm
You put this mans words out of context. What exactly are you aiming to do with your citing of “Osama bin Laden”. Educated people who can see through your words would call this irrelevant. Me, personally, I call it propaganda. The age old trick of tying something you dislike with something most people dislike and inserting a connotation suggesting that they are similar. Clever.
European countries which have adopted a socially minded system of government have far surpassed us in every facet of economic success. The net worth of their citizens, the standard of living, all above and beyond our own. Companies in which each employee shares a say turn a larger profit. These are facts, not fiction, and Mr. Moore has done well with his portrayal of them. These countries are not a “Collective” or any other such extreme which I am sure you would be happy to pin upon them, as demonstrated by your language.
By Dr. David Beaman Jr, Ph.D. Economics March 30, 2010 at 12:13 pm
When you attack Michael Moore and say his reasoning is incorrect because he himself is a rich “Elitist”, you are committing a fallacy. I urge everyone to look up the term “Ad Hominem.” Sure, he has lots of money! But what does that really have to do with what he’s saying? If you can’t defeat his argument with one that offers countering points, then you’re just blowing smoke and wasting time.
I should not be lurking around the internet at my age, I only find things and people who don’t have the slightest bit of inclination for what is being said.
