The Sanford Drip: More To Come?
Just when you thought the ongoing political soap opera surrounding embattled, scandal-plagued S.C. Gov. Mark Sanford was about to run out of steam, fresh revelations could fan additional flames.
Reporters at two mainstream media outlets tell FITS that they are “preparing to file” new stories that will add to the stack of scandals Sanford is currently staring down. Meanwhile, Sanford’s office is beginning to face scrutiny from mainstream reporters over the way the governor handled the Kristin Maguire fiasco.
FITS will have an updated report on that coming next week …
All in all, Sanford is beginning to experience some serious blow back from his “attack the media” strategy, which he kicked off a week ago at an angry press conference in Columbia.

I gotta say all this is getting boring.
Who cares if Andre is gay?
In 15 months or so Sanford will be gone.
So…yawn, is there anything important happening out there?

That’s not surprising. This guy is a gift that keeps giving.
with so many enemies, you can dig up dirt on him every minutes. Something tells me we have just seen the little stuff. For instance, just look at the “friends” who provided the plane flights ..and connect the dots. And how soon is it going to be before “Maria” is traced?

Patty, you may go back to sleep now.
BTW, these stories are alot of things, however they are not boring.
Was the Kristin Maguire story boring? NO
Was the Chapur story boring? NO
Was the Bauer story boring? NO
Hey Patty, wake-up or go back to sleep.

Amazing…
You for real?
You find this interesting? Edifying? Enlightening?
Quit blogging and go back to Jerry Springer. The rest of us are interested in good government, lower taxes, the 4% cut yesterday by the Budget and Control Board, and TIGER football! Sorry, just had to add that last one.
I understand this is salacious stuff, and mildly titillating. But maturity is calling you, and you should pick up the phone.

“But maturity is calling you, and you should pick up the phone.”
He did lift the phone…but maturity was tied up on the other line with Sanford and was just not getting through.

Without daring to fathom what more prurient or illegal stuff could come from a humble, loving, servant of God Almighty, we can conjecture on the defense.
God told me to do it.
God ordained it for me.
The media made me do it.
‘So and so’ did it too.
It was more than legal and insinuating otherwise is a misinterpretation, misrepresentation and conspiracy.
It was in the line of duty.
All other heads of agencies need to be investigated for said instead of me.
Someone is gay.

Patty — You find Clemson football exciting? Yawn.

It is gratifying to see a blog that reads the political situation in SC & actually tells it like it is. I read that weak-knee editorial in the State from Cindi Scoppe this week where she tells Sanford he hasn’t made the “right kind of apologies” & “I can’t guarantee that the right sort of apologies will calm down the Legislature, but short of resigning, that’s the only hope I can see of avoiding an impeachment battle. . ” Where has this woman been for the last 2 months?
Without airing further grievances against the State, let me just say that it is refreshing to see the way you have handled this & the humor that goes with it. Makes it much easier for me not to swear at local politicians when I read FITS first.

You’re right Patty. The rest of us are interested in those same things (Clemson football excluded). Just think, if the Clown Prince had done the right thing from the start and resigned, we might be addressing those issues right now. Instead we continue to be the laughingstock that Sanford has insisted we be for the last 7 years.

He-man Patty, you may go back to sleep now.
BTW, the truth hurts sometimes.

How could he resign?
International *ex-Guvs* can’t keep lovely Maria’s embers burning, can they?
It’s all about the second head. Or is it the third eye?
“Y’all” know what I’m talking about, whatever it’s called.

Anybody else notice that it seems all the recent Sanford forgivers/supporters/lets move on’ers have been women? Me thinks Miz Jenny has her “army” at work.

RESIGN Mr. Sanford! Oh, the shame of being an idiot in plain view of everyone.

awww Patty Shut up for God’s sake , some of us cannot get enough of the sanford saga.
because who doesn’t like to see a lying, dishonest, disingenuous, manipulative faux-pious adulterer get his commupance! here’s a quote Mark missed when spouting scripture:
Pride goeth before a fall, and a haughty spirit before destruction.
bring on the wrecking ball.

Libb, Why would Jenny want the fella back?

I agree, I think what we have been seeing so far is the small arms fire and the press is saving the big artillery for later. My bet is things will really start to get hot in February after all the candidates have announced and made their commitments.
I still think he is Mr. Untouchable for the time being however it now appears the press has had the gauntlet thrown down and it could get very interesting.
There is a old political saying to the effect that is hard to fight guys who buy paper by the mile and ink by the drum.
I also suspect we are about to see even more stories come out from former staff types but for right now I will still rate him as Untouchable.

Let us save money and commit Sinford to a mental hospital.Tentative
diagnosis: delusion,terminal narcissicism etc…

let me get this straight, The State or Charleston P&C is planning to break a story, I didn’t know they remembered how to do that.
How long have they been sitting on this one?

Schadenfreude ist die schoenste freude — not the prettiest human emotion, but in this case the object definitely earned his misfortunes.
