More John Spratt Town Hall Fun

more fun from spratt town hall

U.S. Rep. John Spratt needs to get some better censors, people.  And from the looks of it, a new brain.  Maybe then he could have a Town Hall meeting that doesn’t end up with him on YouTube looking like a complete and total buffoon.

More importantly, for the second straight night Spratt’s effort to control the discussion on health care reform – an issue on which he has yet to take an intelligible position – clearly failed to suppress growing disenchantment among constituents in his Democratic-leaning Fifth Congressional District.

We’ve already shared some low-lights of Spratt’s Wednesday night Town Hall meeting in Sumter, S.C., but he had another “deer in the headlights” moment at a Town Hall meeting Thursday evening in Rock Hill, S.C.

Specifically, Spratt was asked to name one government program that has “worked, been efficient, allowed for competition and came in under budget.”

Here’s the video of his reply:

Seriously, is this guy on drugs?

Because as far as we can tell he (once again) chose not to answer the question and started mindlessly regurgitating the White House talking points.

We’ve always viewed Spratt as unbeatable in the Fifth District – which he has represented now for a quarter of a century.  If he keeps this crap up, however, there’s a good chance that a friggin’ folding chair might give him a run for his money.

Hey, FITS, can you name one private sector enterprise that did all that the woman was talking about?
Hey, can you name one private sector enterprise that just avoided/eliminated fraud?

    Gamecockdude,

The difference between a private sector enterprise and a public one is that when the private one screws up enough, it goes out of business. When a public entity screws up, it just requests more tax dollars and keeps right on going.

There is more waste and fraud in Medicare than the combined salaries of all the CEO’s of every insurance company in the U.S. Obama already said there were billions of fraud and waste in the program yet for some reason he doesn’t think its important to address that issue unless it is combined with a total healthcare system overhaul. Why can’t the fraud be addressed separately?

The fraud comes from hospitals and doctors, both sacred cows of the Repugnants.

Speaking of talking points… where did this idiot get her talking points? I bet she can’t even spell deficiency, much less tell us what it means. Plus, I’d like to hear him finish that last thought, but instead, you were sure to cut it off before he made a valid point. Those leaving that meeting not wanting to vote for John Spratt (like the skint head in the front right) were not going to vote for him anyway, and they probably still have a W sticker on their jacked up, red F-150s.

I also think it is funny that most of these blue hairs are not even Spratt’s constituents. I’ve always been given a helping hand when it comes to John Spratt’s office, and I am sure he will do the right thing.

Will- this dog won’t hunt. Not if it’s John Spratt you’re going after.

Amazing how blind we can be! How is he elected? Even in the simplest form of a social welfare state, like feeding a wild animal or even your pet, they begin to depend and expect the handout and quit working (hunting) for their food. We humans are the worse form of this, we are naturally lazy and we have to be taught to work and respect the value of it. It has not happened over night, but we are only hurting ourselves with our current form of compassion for the needy. Our compassion should be delivered in a form of opportunity and education which they still have to work for and should never be in the form of a handout. We have to be taught to be responsible for ourselves and actions! Even if you get sick. I can say these things because I come from humble beginnings and did what it took to get a degree from just a cheap community college. I even lived in a car for a year but graduated with honors and worked very hard to get where I am today with NO handouts, not even for my medical bills. I owe this to my mother, a single parent, who diligently taught me to work hard since I was a small child. Would have been considered abuse by the liberals but I thank God for her and her hard life lessons.

I know it’s hard for liberals to see because we have been indoctrinated with socialism propaganda for so long from our national media outlets and politicians, which I’m sure know the truth, but preach and promise great benefits to get the vote from the poor and those with ignorant compassion for them. We should always show compassion to the less fortunate, but we must be very careful how it is delivered in a form that will last. Give a man a fish and he has a meal, teach a man to fish and he is fed for a life time. It will take years and years of horrible times to recover from the damages from our welfare state if we started working at it today…. And they, the liberals just want to make it worse. Wake up people. Why would you gladly give up your freedoms to a corrupt and wasteful government? Capitalism works. Just look at America, look at our success and how it has worked. But they want “change”, they want socialism and it has NEVER worked! Capitalism would be much better if not for criminals backed by corrupt government, push special interest, etc. Exactly how will socialism fix that? Hello! More power in the hands of the corrupt will make it less corrupt? “Are you just plain stupid?” Yeah, yeah, “stupid is, as stupid does”. I guess so…..

John, in the past, has been a good guy in my book. This “Jack” Spratt up there spouting off has lost it. Where is the hook to pull him offstage?

Yep thats it…its all the hospital and doctors fault and of course none of the doctors or health administrators are Democrats…and of course this democratic administration wouldn’t sent checks to convicted felons or sexual predators why those are republicans only also….RBB your mommas callin you to dinner and said she’d either slop you or the hogs…don’t matter which to her.
Lord have Mercy RBB this ain’t a party issue, this is a tax issue since the money their talking about is money that taxpayers put into the system….and besides, do you honestly think the Republicans have the power to stop an investigation of the doctors or hospitals if this were true. Your hypothesis is flawed as well as your critical thinking skills.

Hey, STFU..the blue hairs were not his constituents? He had his folks working the doors on this one,,,you HAD TO SHOW AN ID TO GET IN TO PROVE YOU LIVED IN THE DISTRICT…then, you had to fill out an form giving your name, address, etc… AND WHERE YOU STOOD ON THE ISSUE….all those “for” went into on box, all those “neutral” another, and all those against into the magic box that I imagine got sent to the White House.

Goebels would’ve loved it….as I am sure you did.

    RedBank Bar,
God bless your heart, but fraud comes from bad people. All races, all trades, regardless of the type of business, establishment, career or political party. Sorry, but our big corrupt government will not fix this. They can take away your freedoms and money but they will not replace it with utopia. And what they do take… well, it’s gone! Good luck getting it back once you figure out what you have done.

98 percent of the comments were from people opposed.
A lot of people who are against put their forms in the for and undecided boxes.
In other words, they lied. They are a bunch of liars.
Dislike the process, speak out against it. But don’t be a damn liar about your position. They at least should have respected the “undecided” box, but no.
Say what you want about the tenor of the debate, but the people who spoke, most of them, are at heart, liars, and DO NOT support free speech, free exchange of ideas. They aren’t open to hearing any side but their own.

    boooohoooo

those rascally republicans out foxed the silver fox…and democrats keep crying like little school girls about how all those folks are just shills and now “liars”

Democrats are still shocked that we the people are showing up at these events and we haven’t been bribed with meal money, a new t-shirt, and bus fare.

Keep on riding donkeycrats – Waterloo is fast approaching.
