Sanford’s Plumbing Company: Starting Leaks?

While South Carolinians have been left slack-jawed over allegations that their Lt. Governor may like boys, the timing of the “gay leak” against Andre Bauer has revived speculation about the possible role in the story of S.C. Gov. Mark Sanford (who left everyone similarly slack-jawed earlier this summer when it was revealed that he liked girls).

A week ago Bauer called on Sanford to resign his office over a spate of different summer scandals – a move which has led many to speculate that Monday’s leak is “payback” courtesy of a group of shady political operatives known as the “Governor’s Plumbers.”

Anyway, we addressed this speculation in a recent post here on FITS, but at the time the “Plumbers” and the rumored role they played in the Bauer leak was unaccompanied by a graphic representation of the governor’s butt crack – an omission that has obviously now been remedied.

And yes, you’re welcome.

Meanwhile, the theory that one of Bauer’s 2010 gubernatorial rivals may have dropped the “gay bomb” picked up some traction on Wednesday when it was revealed that S.C. Attorney General Henry McMaster has some advertisements running on the website that made the initial accusation against the Light Gov.

Take a look …

blogactive mcmaster ad

Hmmmm …

Update – It appears as though Henry’s ads are randomly-generated by Google, which we guess explains why they are all over our website as well.  In related news, McMaster walked upright today, which his aides say is evidence that he’s ready to take on the challenges of being governor of South Carolina.

Ads run anywhere, right? McMaster has ads that appear on FITS as well. Google or other companies control that crap.

You have to be kidding me. McMaster advertised on blogactive – a website devoted to furthering the gay political agenda? Either this was photo-shopped by Fits or McMaster likes burning cash with no hope of influencing web site viewers. Speaking of that, why are there so many McMaster adds on FITSNEWS? I have never seen a complementary comment about the man here. Is this really a productive site for his advertising or does he just not care?

Lets see, an old phony like McMaster, outing a new phony like Bauer.

There is a symmetry there, you have to admit.

PS…I heard Bauer’s response to this outing was to “leak” some photo’s of him with a girl. Surely that can’t be true…can it?

well, they’re not really RANDOMLY generated, are they? they’re the product of cookies that track your internet browsing habits. you get hit with ads based on the sites you surf, so if you’re hitting political sites, you’ll get a mcmaster ad, no?

By MKinVA on September 2nd, 2009 at 6:58 pm

crush and confused: Yeah, this is bogus, Will. The ads are based on the home base of your ip address and some include browsing history. I get Virginia political ads for the Virginia Gov’s race or support for Obama health care political groups. The same ads I get when I read The State from up here.

Why is it that Henry McMaster likes to feature pictures of black men in his political ads? The recent one for Governor begins with a photo of President Obama and when he ran for Attorney General the first time he often included a photo of opponent Steve Benjamin.

Our Funding Editor is confused by the gay “this and that” allegations.

She wants willie to know that she has been a gay male lesbian with female tendencies and male overtones for the last 69 years.

She also wants sic(k) willie to know she is hot for him and Mandee. But, she is not comfortable suggesting a “get 2′gather” until she better understands sic(k) willie’s preferences. She once saw him blog about sheep and goats.

That concerns her. Her entire staff is concerned.

Lets get some facts straight: Andre Bauer was “outed” by Linda Ketner , a Democrat, in early June 2009, a full 3 weeks before the Sanford scandal broke.

Blogger Mike Rogers actually commented on Ketner’s allegations at the time (i.e., June): http://www.q-notes.com/2710/former-candidate-linda-ketner-outs-sc-republicans.

Bauer himself addressed the gay rumor in the State newspaper on June 30, 2009. http://www.thestate.com/sanford/story/846572.html.

Therefore, Jakie Knotts’s baseless allegation — repeated here — that Sanford started this rumor in response to something Bauer said or the SC Rhinos did in Myrtle Beach LAST WEEK is ridiculous. Are you suggesting that there was some conspiracy between Ketner and Sanford pre-Trailgate to derail Andre?

South Carolinians have been asking whether Bauer (and Graham and McConnell) are gay for ages. In Bauer’s case, it doesn’t help that his ex-wife alleged he had a gay affair in their divorce action.

Does it matter if he is gay? Not really, but it does make him a liar and a hypocrite.

The real point is that Sanford should not be blamed for this rumor about Andre.

If a hurricaine were to strike South Carolina next week, the General Assembly would most certainly blame Sanford for that, as well. Neither allegation has any basis in fact.
