Fourth Estate “Serves” Harry Reid

You would think that socialist leaders like Nevada’s Harry Reid would be bending over and kissing the rear end of the mainstream media, which more often than not in recent years has bent over and kissed the rear end of all the left-leaning politicians currently running this once-proud nation into the ground.

Seriously, people. It’s been a symbiotic relationship … at least until this year, anyway, when all the “hope and change” America was promised by its leaders turned into a mountain of bad bailout debt that has utterly failed to turn around the economy.  Oh, and let’s not forget the leftist march on “health care reform,” which has finally roused the “Silent Majority” from its lethargy and motivated vast swaths of the American populace to protest the commie direction their nation is taking.

Understandably, this uprising has pissed off the Washington establishment something fierce.  America was supposed to bend over and take all of this, after all, with President Barack Obama and his sycophants in the press providing the cover.

Yeah … apparently not so much.

The wheels are starting to come off the great socialist experiment, and now that calling all those Americans who don’t support government-run health care “Nazis” and “racists” has failed to bully us back “in line,” the powers-that-be are getting frustrated, and taking that frustration out on their friends in the press.

Take Reid, for example, who recently attended a Las Vegas Chamber of Commerce luncheon and told the advertising editor of the state’s largest  paper “I hope you go out of business.”

How sweet.  Fortunately, one of the paper’s columnists, Sherman Frederick, has a set of stones on him and isn’t letting Reid get away with such infantile bullying.

From the Las Vegas Review Journal:

No citizen should expect this kind of behavior from a U.S. senator. It is certainly not becoming of a man who is the majority leader in the U.S. Senate. And it absolutely is not what anyone would expect from a man who now asks Nevadans to send him back to the Senate for a fifth term.

If he thinks he can push the state’s largest newspaper around by exacting some kind of economic punishment in retaliation for not seeing eye to eye with him on matters of politics, I can only imagine how he pressures businesses and individuals who don’t have the wherewithal of the Review-Journal.

For the sake of all who live and work in Nevada, we can’t let this bully behavior pass without calling out Sen. Reid. If he’ll try it with the Review-Journal, you can bet that he’s tried it with others. So today, we serve notice on Sen. Reid that this creepy tactic will not be tolerated.

Frederick goes on to inform Reid that “we won’t allow you to bully us,”  and that if the Senator attempts to bully anyone else, he can “count on going through us first.”

“That’s a promise, not a threat,” Frederick writes.

Hell yeah.  Sherman Frederick has “balls as big as church bells,” people … and he’s doing precisely what a good member of the Fourth Estate should do in such a situation.

As for Reid, he is no less a gangster than the glorified hoods that appear in his Las Vegas Mob museum, which of course is being funded with “stimulus” money that Reid earmarked for his home state.

Good for Frederick … and shame on Harry Reid.

I started Monday pessimistic about the economy, but the Review-Journal taking on Harry Reid boosted my morale. Maybe our country is starting to return to common sense (and the Constitution of the United States) after all.

Please note that Sherman Frederick is not just a columinst – he is the Publisher of the Las Vegas Review Journal.

Hey…what happened to the last sitting Dem Senate leader to go through re-election…Daschle? Was that his name? yeah, what happened to him?..I can’t seem to remember.

And apparently neither does Reid.

Mister Reid will be “out of bidness” himself before he knows what hit him.
