Former Sanford Spokesman Opens Firm

For our money, the smartest man in Palmetto politics right now is Joel Sawyer, the former spokesman to S.C. Gov. Mark Sanford who resigned last month after six years in the governor’s office – just in the nick of time, it would appear.

Talk about “gettin’ out when the gettin’s good,” people.

Seriously … how much does Sawyer have to be loving the “former” part of his Sanford spokesman title right now?  Particularly seeing as his old boss has apparently decided that attacking the media and then refusing to take their questions is his new strategy for dealing with the scandals surrounding his administration.

Anyway, while Sanford goes further down the rabbit hole, Sawyer is opening the doors to New Level Strategies, his new consulting firm.

“The guiding principle of my new company is giving clients an unparalleled level of personalized service, expertise, and the tools they need to tell their story and advance their branding,” Sawyer said.

Sawyer says his firm will specialize in public relations and communications consulting, “including media strategy, message development, crisis communications, and media training, for corporate, public policy and advocacy, and political clients.”

Here’s a quick word of wisdom to future Sawyer clients … when Joel grabs your arm at a press conference, that means it’s time to go.

Yep he knows what happened to the Titanic and the owners claims it never broke in half before going down but now we know it did.

Joel has seen the ice and knows where this may go but then again I don’t expect anyone will do anything to Sanford as basically what I am reading is the Governor’s Office is above the law.

Wonder if Thomas will call him to testify about what he knows on who and when he knew it? That will be the event to see. If I were Thomas I would get him under oath and start asking the hard questions after providing him immunity.

I am not looking for the legislature to do ANYTHING but party this weekend.

Isn’t it fair to say that being “the smartest man in Palmetto
politics” is no testimony to anyone’s intelligence? Wouldn’t
a more accurate parallel be that if he is the smartest man
in SC politics that is pretty much the same as being the
sleaziest hooker in the whorehouse?

Our Funding Editor wet her Depends when she read,

“…unparalleled level of personalized service, expertise, and the tools … to tell their story and advance their branding.”

Right. Like sanfraud’s “branding.” Kinky.

Then our Funding Editor puked in her pantyhose as she read:

“…including media strategy, message development, crisis communications, and media training, for corporate, public policy and advocacy, and political clients.”

After getting over the bad grammar and bad punctuation, she puked in her pantyhose again and again and again.

sanfraud’s media strategy has been, well, “dumb and dumber.” sic(k) willie was convicted of CDV, and Sawyer could not even find his boss for days.

sanfraud reflects on the people he hired. The guys close to him certainly knew he was a san-fraud. “You are what you eat,” and who you work for.

BLBarBob- or “tallest midget in the circus” as we used to say in the Army…although Sawyer actually seems pretty sharp. The video of him tugging on Sanford’s arm (silently begging him to shut the hell up) at the initial meltdown is priceless.
