We were flipping through some of LIFE magazine’s online image galleries the other day (because we can) when we happened to stumble upon one entitled “Creepiest NCAA Mascots.”
We’ll let you be the judge(s), but we don’t think this one is even close.
The award should go to the Southern Illinois Saluki, people, because let’s face it – that’s not a dog. That’s the friggin’ Predator (or maybe Maria Shriver).
Seriously, that thing is supposed to hug small children?

I was in Carbondale, Illinois recently, home of SIU. That is the mascot. I couldn’t believe it either. It does look like Maria. Shiver, I mean, not the other one.
