Bauer Owns Property In Fourth District
Rumors of S.C. Lt. Gov. Andre Bauer running for the Fourth District U.S. Congressional seat picked up considerable steam Wednesday with the announcement of his “limited time only” offer to forgo a gubernatorial bid in 2010 – assuming S.C. Gov. Mark Sanford resigns from his office.
Of course to run for a Congressional District, you need to at least be a property owner there – which Bauer now has covered.
Just last month, Bauer purchased a $480,000 home in Thornblade – an exclusive Greer, S.C. neighborhood – except he paid only $240,000 for the previously repossessed property.
Here’s the deed …
Obviously, given his extensive property holdings in numerous different parts of the state, Bauer could run for any one of at least three Congressional seats if he wanted to.
The only question now is which seat (if any) he’ll pick …

The people of the upstate vote for Andre. It has been a good area for him.
But they do not know that he has recently had several live in, 22 year old girlfriends. And that he parties like a rock star with young girls that he is old enough to be their father.
When the religious and decent folk of the Upstate get the real sense of the boy they know as Andre, they will leave him in droves.

Is he married? Are the girls UNDERAGED? Sex with animals or kids? Is he murdering, stealing, shady dealing, lying? Worshipping Satan?
If the answer to all the above is “no”, quit with the frivilous crap. I don’t like it either, but if the man can do the job properly, which everyone says he can’t, focus on that. We need to stop being a state concerned with drama and find somebody who can run this state properly.
What bothers me most about him is the drunk driving. I read he did not get a ticket on one occassion. Seems to me he’s like most of what’s in the state house. They need to go and we need better candidates to choose from, in both parties.
Perhaps we need to boycott the Dems and Reps for a few years and pick an independent or something.

Will the SC Gop investigate Bauer’s use of the state plane, and his private flights? Or just Sanford.
To do one and not the other is inexcusable…and the people of this state will wonder why the GOP leadership was not smart enough to go after ALL fraud waste and abuse…not just some of it.
To investigate Bauer AFTER (and if) Sanford if goes is simply silly. Knowing eyes are on the GOP leadership and how they handle this Bauer problem.

When are you going to get it Will. You do not have to live in the Congressional district to run for it. You only have to live in the state. Now practically it might not work but it is legal for you to live in Charleston and run for Spratt’s seat.
The U.S. Constitution requires that a U.S. Senator shall “when elected, be an inhabitant of that state for which he shall be chosen.” Ditto, a U.S. Representative.
That’s it. Note the noun “inhabitant” not the verb “reside” and certainly not the colloquial “live in.”
Article I
Section 1. All legislative powers herein granted shall be vested in a Congress of the United States, which shall consist of a Senate and House of Representatives.
Section 2. The House of Representatives shall be composed of members chosen every second year by the people of the several states, and the electors in each state shall have the qualifications requisite for electors of the most numerous branch of the state legislature.
No person shall be a Representative who shall not have attained to the age of twenty five years, and been seven years a citizen of the United States, and who shall not, when elected, be an inhabitant of that state in which he shall be chosen.

The house is in the Battery @ Thornblade, not in the Thornblade golf community.

What’s also interesting is that Senator David Thomas, who Bauer battled with in the 2002 Lt. Governor runoff election, is currently running for the 4th CD seat while simultaneously leading the charge to investigate Sanford. This adds yet another layer to this political story.

I believe Ted Kennedy did the same things Bauer is doing, except for the whole Camelot thing, and he was just glorified as the best stateman America has ever had for his ultra liberal socialist ideals and policy he pushed down our throats. Just gotta hope that drunk driving doesn’t lead to one of those young 22 year old girls drowning inside a car or being raped by a nephew at his numerous mansions…

Thomas, you bring up something interesting.
Can any public official just say they want to use a state plane and just use it? No one has to approve it or insure it’s use is within state law?

The property address is in Greer, but it’s actually off of S. Batesville Road and very close to Pelham Road. In other words, the address is no where near the actual city of Greer, as the picture would imply. Just sayin’.
A choice between Inglis, Bauer, and Thomas for the 4th? If that’s the best we can do, it’s pathetic.

As I understand it, all state plane usage has to be for the benefit of the state, not just personal use, or partisan politics.
There are rules and regulations concerning this, though it has been some time since I looked at them.
But it appears there is a lot of commentary concerning the disclosure and ethics laws concerning private flights. If their value is more than $25.00, they should have been reported. It appears Sanford has not reported all of them, and Bauer has reported none of them.

There is no drunk driving. The Lt. Gov is a health nut. And does not party like it’s 1999. Unlike, Sanford, The Lt. Gov’s detractors have nothing but ugly gossip to talk about. He works hard, and long days for the people of SC. This is a guy that has been working hard for years and years. He is no lazy bum, or a party dude! Give up the gossip.

Character of elected officials or candidates for office is well within the parameters of that which should be judged by the individual voter before pulling the lever for him.
Character is an important matter. For example, if an individual running for office were behaving in a promiscuous fashion, I don’t think I’d trust his judgement in other areas either.
Why is Andre Bauer not married? Is not being married (to a woman reasonably close in age and faithful) at least one good indicator of an individual’s character, especially in regards to responsibility, personal growth, and maturity?
Look at the fuss that Sanford’s cheating and promiscuity has caused. His judgement and behavior have been extreme and extremely disruptive to our state. He should resign, IMHO, but his remaining in office is a great demonstration of what can happen when we have someone of poor character in office.
One thing to ask yourself about Bauer is: “Would you ride in a car with him driving?” Or, even more important for such a high level figure, “Would you fly in a plane with him piloting?”
What do I think of Bauer’s speeding, challenging police officers, crashing a plane due to his extreme negligence, general arrogance, sexual promiscuity, repeated grandstanding, pandering to special interests, etc.? I think he’s repeatedly shown very poor judgement and I can not trust the boy Lt. Governor. By the time Andre Bauer grows up he’ll be senile.
I wouldn’t fly in a plane or ride in a car that he was in charge of. And I sure as the devil wouldn’t trust him to pilot this state as governor nor represent any portion thereof in D.C.

No in fact the whole image of a health nut is just smoke and mirrors. A close friend of mine actually attended one of the coke binged parties on the arm of one of the 22 year old call girls that Bauer likes to associate himself with down in Charleston.

Old news, and he has made no secret of it. He told a group I was in at the State House in March that he would be buying a house in Greenville. This is the worst-kept secret in South Carolina.

Scooter, Andre’s security detail had to pull him away from a party and tell him he shouldn’t be drinkin’ at the race in Darlington. I saw myself.
