sanford respond

S.C. Gov. Mark Sanford will hold a media availability this afternoon responding to Lt. Gov. Andre Bauer’s request Wednesday afternoon that Sanford step down as governor.

Bauer becomes the latest in a long line of Palmetto politicos to ask for the governor’s resignation.

FITS will be there … of course …

Will Sanford take off his Narcissus goggles and finally – at long last – read the handwriting on the wall?

What do you think?

Update – Check out what this guy in Kansas City thinks … wow, our gov is losing credibility with conservatives halfway across the country.

No way. He’s not wearing goggles. He had lasik surgery.

What time is the press conference? Has any governor in State history (aside from Donald Russell who appointed himself Senator) resigned?

By Tee on August 26th, 2009 at 3:26 pm

He has met recently with some of his strong allies and freinds who have advised him to resign. He continually tells them that he has no intentions of stepping down. So we are to assume that Bauer’s (someone that Sanford could honestly give two-sh*ts about) most recent request for him to step down will make him resign? Get real…..he’ll just go on record again explaining that these next 16-18 months he is dedicated to restoring the trust of south carolians and state legislators. Then again who knows, i could once read Gov. Sanford like a book, no longer the case.

This is a circus. Does anybody really expect Bauer to set aside his personal political gain for anyone or anything? Can we have a simultaneous resignation of governor and lieutenant governor on the same day? Oh wait that would probably put Bobby Harrell in charge. This is a sad state of affairs.

He’s too stupid and self-centered to resign. Captain Ahab was better able to read and respond to the writing on the wall.

Is he serious? People have moved on? I have seen one person saying stay Sanford for every TEN people who are saying please resign.

He didn’t take questions! Now he’s really done it! And his claim that his administration bought zero first/business class flights? Is he kidding?!! Just because Commerce booked the flights for he and his fluff Nikki Haley, doesn’t let him off the hook.

Looks like the witch hunt is turning tides. Hmmmmm illegal business deals, state contracts to benefit legislators, lobbyist paid trips and perks, etc. The truth always wins out in the end. Keep fluffing each other cause that all your gonna be holding in your hands at the end of the day!

Stand strong, Mark Sanford! We’re behind you 100%. Finish the last 16 months with dignity.

Mr. Sanford has a personality problem that is goingn to require attention from someone other than the boys at C-Street house and his church. He is really a mess. He has been asleep at the wheel on the rare occasions he has been at the wheel of our government. He is a total embarrassment to the people of South Carolina.

He has as good as told the leaders of the state GOP to kiss his fanny. As they meet this week at Myrtle Beach to decide whether to impeach him or not, I hope they remember his attitude. If he does not leave immediataely, they neet to start a fast impeachment proceeding.

It’s time they let a good man like Dwight Drake become our Governor.

Sugar: “The truth always wins out in the end.” That’s funny. Guess you don’t know nuttin’ ’bout the Ethics Commission. It’s politics, Sugar, politics. But maybe you are right. The truth might win out in the end here. In 100 years when some geek historian writes a phd thesis about it. Yep. It will really help things now when that happens.
