BIN you think its poverty and racism and all the other social injustices somehow to blame for the state of the schools when in reality its just been run as a racket for so long and in such a po dunk part of the state that no one cares to fix it. The fact they have a 35% graduation rate in Hampton 2 is evidence in itself those taxpayers are easy to dupe because the same people who are ripping them off are responsible for educating them. There is only one form of social injustice and that is the over reaching hand of debt, which is a condition that man puts himself into, or is placed into with people with power to control the budgets of governments and beauracracies. Vouchers may not be the best answer to go, but it is at least an alternative too a blatantly inept school administration running their kids lives into the ground. This pitiful district needs teachers who are committed to teaching the students, like the English language and simple math, and not just committed to getting their paychecks by direct deposit. The layers of administration between the district office and the students is unbelievable. Much like that state education office on Senate Street in Columbia.
