Health Care And The Holocaust

We don’t listen to right-wing blowhard Rush Limbaugh … never have.

He’s what we call a “mega-bag-o-douche,” and we marveled intently at all the people touting his prominence back when he got so “important” during the first few months of 2009. You remember, before U.S. President Barack Obama was such a socialist … or before it was “racist” or “unpatriotic” to call him that.

Five months ago, in other words.

To us, the elevation of Limbaugh earlier this year was nothing more than clever left-wing marketing ploy … i.e. Obama’s people picked the biggest douche bag the other side had to offer and made him the face of their “opposition.” Brilliant, right?

And so liberals pumped up the volume on Limbaugh out every bit as aggressively as the reactionary right did, making him as big as Hermann Goering … alright, alright, not that big. But Limbaugh was back in the high life again, as evidenced by Obama calling him out by name and the high-profile controversy over Wanda Sykes’ joke about him … which was pretty funny in our book.

So … did the “make Rush the face of the right” strategy work? Sure, for a few months it did … but then Obama’s “change” turned into FDR liberalism on steroids, which then turned into outright socialism … which is when Obama started losing his public support.

Now Goering .. err, Limbaugh is back in the news with his recent Nazi remark (just in the nick of time), and we’re (strangely) coming to his defense.

First, here’s a sample of the PC indignation that’s been flowing in the wake of Limbaugh’s “Nazi” comment …

Rush Limbaugh and those who invoking the Nazi analogy to attack President Barack Obama’s effort to reform health care in America are not “insane” as David Brooks pronounced on last Sunday’s “Meet the Press.” Limbaugh, Glenn Beck, Sarah Palin and the rest of the loud-mouthed right wing are, when they even hint at an analogy to the Nazis in talking about Obama’s health reform effort, engaged in something far worse than insanity. They are engaged in the vile evil of Holocaust denial.

For some time now, Iran’s president, Mahmoud Ahmadinejad, has held the title of the world’s most dangerous anti-Semite due to his denial that the Holocaust occurred. Limbaugh and his ilk who have been throwing around references to Adolf Hitler, National socialism and Nazi medicine without hesitation have surpassed the danger posed by the Iranian president. They are offering a false view of why the Holocaust happened. Their flagrant, deliberate and invidious distortion of what happened to medicine in Nazi Germany must not be allowed to stand. Not just because health reform is too important an issue but also because the truth is too important to let ignoramuses destroy it.

Huh?

What is this writer even talking about? We never heard Limbaugh deny the holocaust … although we have seen Obama’s people play the “holocaust denier” card in the past when they found themselves in a political pickle.

Wethinks these bleeding hearts doth protest WAY too much.

Obviously, by definition invoking the Nazis is “over the top” – which is why we frequently enjoy invoking the Nazis here at FITS.

But this is still a free country, right? We can still say what we think and let the marketplace of ideas do its job, can’t we? And for that matter, all Americans (even fat, pompous ones like Limbaugh) can still say what they think about things, right?

Of course they (and you) can … even if Obama calls you a “racist” or House Speaker Nancy Pelosi calls you “unpatriotic” for doing so.

F*ck them … it’s still a free country, and (for now at least) you still have the right to speak your mind about the direction it’s taking.

Nazi references are always going to be “over the top,” but so is implementing socialism in a Republic that was founded on liberty.

This country was founded with the immoral use of slaves and the genocide of Native Americans – yeah some real liberty there!

By rebel on August 11th, 2009 at 6:19 pm

Precisely, and I applaud you. That’s why your readers and commenters are here, and not at La Socialista, read by the Shandonistas. They don’t know their ass from their Alinsky. Why don’t they go explain to the Iranian protestors that it is really Rush they should be afraid of, right before they are tossed off the gallows by the Iranian government? Or that maybe Israel should point their missiles at Palm Beach rather than at their Islamic neighbors who love hitler and model themselves on the third reich? Not to mention the outright Jew-haters and Israel-haters who populate Obama’s administration.

“Founded on liberty”? Sure, as long as you were a white male who owned property. Not so good if you were black, a female, or a poor white. We were able, however, to do better and evolve and improve over time. Maybe a better and more efficient health care system will be another example of this tradition of continuous attempts to improve the life of all Americans.

you are a mental midget next to limbaugh. sorry, you are not near the critical thinker. still love your site, though.

By fitsnews on August 11th, 2009 at 9:31 pm

gillon – try to keep up. “yeah right” beat you to it. obviously, you’re right – and every expansion of individual liberty in this nation WE APPLAUD.

bo – you’re right, too, rush is a lot smarter than we are. but at least we’re not fucking unoriginal.

The great thing about Rush is he is the quintessential Republican: total hypocrite.

He’s virulently hawk, but got a deferrment from ‘Nam because of a claim of an infected boil on his ass.

He’s pro-family and traditional values while thrice-divorved. His last wife, Marta met him in an internet sex chat room while she was still married to her previous husband.

He is a strict law and order man on drugs while pimping out his housekeeper to score his oxycontin to feed his addiction(just like Mark Sanford used to pimp out FITS and Joel Sawyer to feed his addiction to figuratively screw the voters and his wife and kids, and literally screw other women.)

He is opposed to government assistance but twice applied for and received unemployment compensation when fired from radio gigs before Roger Ailes reinvented him.

No wonder he is so beloved by the GOP. He so perfectly embodies their values, just like Sanford. HE IS A COMPLETE PHONY.

Just like the GOP senators and congressman, railing against the horrors of government health insurance while getting their health insurance from the government, paid for by we taxpayers.

Just like the over-65 dittoheads, railing at townhalls against an Obama plan to offer an option of a government run health insurance plan as socialism while choosing a government run health plan called Medicare for their health insurance.

Just like Sarah Palin, lying that an ammendment introduced into a Senate committee health care reform bill by Georgia GOP Senator Johnny Isaakson to pay doctors for talking with patients about the plusses and minuses of a living will creates “Obama death panels that will kill her parents and her son Trig,” while her administration in Alaska allows over 200 sick Alaskans to die while waiting for their evaluation for Medicaid by the Palin administation’s health department.

And BTW, Rebel, hats off for nailing the Obama administration for being “Jew haters.” I heard that Rahm Emanuel guy is particulaly anti-Semitic. ROTFLOL!!!!!!!!!
(I’m sure my little joke went right over your head)

madcock,

Ah yes, the hypocritical Republicans. Unlike our ideologically pure Dems who believe in “taxes for thee, but not for me” (Daschle, Geitner). Who claim to be for the environment, but then fight a windmill project that might impact their ocean views (Kennedy) or lecturing about reducing carbon emissions before jumping on a private jet to Switzerland (Gore). Who claim to be compassionate and for the little guy, but give almost nothing to charity (Obama, Biden). Who break every campaign promise and use every dirty tactic in the book (e.g. congressional Democrats attacking auto CEO’s for using corporate planes before ordering up new jets to squire themselves around the globe, questioning the opposition’s patriotism after 8 years of falsely claiming that Republicans did this).

Face it. Politicians (and people) will always have failings. Lets stick to ideas and whether adding a few more trillion to the deficit for socialized medicine and a carbon tax are good ideas. Like most liberals, you apparently can’t defend your ideas, so instead you have to resort to ad hominem attacks.

This country is founded on liberty. It may not always live up to its ideals, but there has never been a greater experiment in freedom in the history of the planet. Go ahead and sneer at those who love this country and are proud of what it stands for. Perhaps you would find the workers’ paradise of Cuba more to your liking.

Is that allow one mega-bag-o-douche calling another one a douche bag?

By Valkyrie on August 12th, 2009 at 9:05 am

1. Rush Limbaugh is a big fat idiot.
2. We are a “socialist” country already. If you need proof of that, just look at our central planning committee that sets our interest rates and monetary policy, commonly known as the Federal Reserve.

Look at how our current socialist programs are bankrupting our country. We can not afford more federal giveaways without going down the path of Zimbabwe.
Watch this breakdown of our current debt and tell me how we are going to pay for Obamacare .

Yeah Republicans and Limbaugh are hypocrties and so are Democrats, all this fuss over healthcare doesn’t change the honest truth that we are all slaves to our government. The more government isn’t in my life the better, but everyone knows where they can go to get help if they need it, you just may have to sacrifice a few extra liberties you once enjoyed. The end is coming brothers and sisters, and I don’t give two shits if white slave owning men founded this country, it has still provided us with the platform we have today to even bitch about the problems it has without recieving lashes or being put in a dungeon somewhere. Just open your wallet and you will see how far government has reached into your life by looking at those pretty Federal Reserve Notes that used to be worth alot more back in the day…A real evil person, and one who no doubt promotes globalization and worldly society because it benefits him, once said give me control of a nations currency, and I care not who writes its laws.

IT IS CALLED DISTRACTION> DECEPTION OF THE HIGHEST DEGREE

By Elliott on August 12th, 2009 at 9:41 am

These two sentences were in the same article.
“We never heard Limbaugh deny the holocaust …”

“We don’t listen to right-wing blowhard Rush Limbaugh … never have.”

I never listen to Limbaugh either: therefore, I do not know what he said or what he didn’t say. The FITS editor must have a sixth sense that I’m missing. He never listens but he knows what Limbaugh didn’t say?

By hey fits on August 12th, 2009 at 10:06 am

at least i don’t run around quoting movie lines to show how original i am. oh snap! that’s right, you’re not the only one who’s seen Good Will Hunting.

and just for some context, rush only brought up the nazis after nancy pelosi accused town hall protesters of brandishing swastikas.

By Brandon on August 12th, 2009 at 10:50 am

I listen daily if possible. I find it humorous the number of people who “never listen” and then go on to pass their opinion on the content of Rush’s show. He is a target due to the size of his audience and the fact that he is effective in getting his points across. He isn’t the “face of the right”, but he is certainly one of the voices of the right. Too bad there isn’t a party of the right any longer.

By wrong track polls on August 12th, 2009 at 11:11 am

The Polls still say we are on the wrong track- now I guess it is for different reasons.

By SCCOn on August 12th, 2009 at 12:56 pm

Ditto Brandon. Rush Limbaugh is about all that’s standing between a free America and totalitarian rule by the Democrats. Rush Limbaugh will go down in history as a defender of liberty. FITS won’t make it to footnote status.

By Brandon on August 12th, 2009 at 4:38 pm

Thanks SCCOn,
But in the intrest of full disclosure, not only do I listen to Rush daily, I visit and read FITS daily, and SCHotline.

By rick on August 13th, 2009 at 8:27 am

Brandon, just shows you’re well rounded and curious to know what you’re not being told by any single entity. Sounds way smarter than continuously re-reading the same old tired shopworn ideas expressed by the Huffington post or daily kos……..Lets face it, Ariana came over here from socialism and found here she could make a great living expressing support for something she couldn’t get away from fast enough.
