Barrettmeansbusiness

As U.S. Rep. Gresham Barrett travels across South Carolina today on his “Barrett Means Business” listening tour (ahem … cough), one of our readers wanted to remind you what the fourth-term Congressman means by “business.”

In a word?

“Bailout.”

Well … except for Ford, obviously, which unlike Barrett and all those other companies doesn’t support government picking winners and losers in the marketplace.

Did gresham vote for or against the automotive bailout? Please answer YES or NO.

Sic, the answer is you probably won’t tell your readers because the answer is NO.

Maybe he didn’t vote to hand out money to every bailout recipient, but his willingness to go along with the first one helped set the stage for the rest to happen.

Barrett voted against the big bailout before he voted for it. What changed his mind?

Plus, since some of his old staff went eslewhere, his constituent service is pretty weak.

That said, all this nonsense about his personal life has actually helped the guy.
