Twenty-year-old Chicago Blackhawks’ phenom Patrick Kane is one of the NHL’s rising stars – which is why his arrest Sunday for robbing a Buffalo cab driver is so confusing.
According to police reports, Kane and his twenty-one-year-old brother, James, paid the cabbie $15 for a $13.80 fare. When the cabbie only gave them a dollar back in change, they allegedly flipped out and began beating him.
The cab driver, Jan Radecki, suffered a broken nose and cuts to his face in the incident, which occurred around 4:00 a.m. Sunday morning in the middle of Buffalo’s party district.
“They broke my glasses, they ripped my clothes … all over 20 cents,” Radecki told the Chicago Tribune.
Kane, who is from Buffalo, has entered a not guilty plea through his attorney.
He made $3.75 million playing hockey last year, his second season with the Blackhawks.

what makes it funny is that kane is about 5’5″, 145. to quote a hockey friend of mine, “this can’t possibly be true. everyone knows kane doesn’t hit anybody.”
(it’s funny if you’re a hockey fan. trust me.)
