Other than S.C. First Lady Jenny Sanford, the four people who have been most adversely affected by the public implosion of S.C. Gov. Mark Sanford are his four boys – Marshall, Landon, Bolton and Blake.
That’s why it was good to see the Sanford boys having a little fun with our founding editor (and former Sanford spokesman) Sic Willie last Friday as the boys departed the Governor’s Mansion – perhaps for the final time.
As the First Lady and her friends moved boxes and clothes out of the mansion, news photographers who had staked out the Mansion’s north gate (including Sic) were treated to some entertainment coming from one of the building’s second story windows.
Here was the first sign to appear (click to enlarge) …
Wait … what’s that say? Here’s a closer look …
Awwww … right back atcha, dudes. Anyway, next came a visit from a fluffy friend …
And then another …
Finally, remembering Sic Willie’s unnatural man-crush on Indianapolis Colts’ star quarterback Peyton Manning (whose road white #18 jersey he wore habitually during the 2002 campaign), the Sanford boys sent one last message down to their old friend …
What ?!?!?!
Anyway, with all the craziness going on around them, it was good to see the boys haven’t lost their sense of humor … or mischief.

Finally, something entertaining to post about this nightmare that will not go away.
Particularly like the #18 sucks sign….. looks like they know how to hit where it hurts.

I love this post. It is reassuring that these kids are…normal. They must get their sense of humor from their mother’s side of the family.

I was giving a tour of the Governor’s Mansion on April 1, 2009 for a dignified and very nice group of folks. In the Hall of Governors across the back of the entrance hall of the Governor’s Mansion is a bust of Governor Blackwood. On that particular day, Governor Blackwood decided to wear a marroon wild haired wig and Oakley sunglasses. Chamberlain, the nicest human to ever work at the GM, calmly told me the Sanford boys had nothing to do with that prank. He quietly told me, he surmised that he -Chamberlain – had left the lights up a little too bright and it was hurting the bronze headed Gov. Blackwood’s eyes. However, Chamberlain further mentioned he might have to return those items to Bolton from whom that bronze bust had mostly likely taken those items…… Great kids.

Are you sure they mean Peyton? Or maybe it’s Kyle Busch’s # 18. (although, I like Kyle, some people do not.)

So, Will, what’s your take? Are they headed for divorce, or will Mark move back to Sullivan’s Island when his term is over?

Great kids! Ironically, when they get older, I’m sure that they will have many hot latin girlfriends!
