The most forced, awkward and decidedly non-historic meeting in White House history took place last night with uniformed waiters, silver platters and cold beers – Blue Moon for the police officer, Bud Light for the President and Red Stripe for the college professor whose irrational bitchfest spawned this “teaching moment” for America.
So … what did we learn about ourselves as the protagonists in the Great Racial Nontroversy gathered with Barack Obama and Joe Biden in the White House Rose Garden for beer (and press photographs)?
Absolutely nothing … except that people can “agree to disagree.”

Henry Louis “Skip” Gates Jr. and Sgt. James Crowley of the Cambridge, Mass., police sat at a round table in the Rose Garden with Biden and Obama talking, sipping beer and munching peanuts and pretzels out of silver bowls. News cameras and reporters were kept 50 feet away and allowed to view the meeting for less than a minute before being shooed away as the men began their conversation.
It was an extraordinary scene that Obama’s aides hoped would convey a hopeful message about race relations and end a controversy that has ballooned into a major distraction for a president pushing an ambitious agenda.
Uhh … a major intentional distraction.
Seriously, people. Anybody seen Obama’s health care numbers lately? They’re in the friggin’ toilet. And obviously the more people talk (and the more we write) about this manufactured racial drama, the less they talk (and we write) about stuff that actually matters.
Look, the only racial tension in this country of late was started by Obama when he popped off at the mouth without knowing what he was talking about. The “teaching moment” here?

This is not about race, no mater how much Obama wants it to be, it is about the police and their power the they think that they are superior to us when in actualaity they are suposed to be servents of the people. If all they had to go by was the constitution we would not need so many cops, and there would not be so many people in jail.

God, BHO is such a cheeser… always up for a photo-op. Although, I haven’t seen one quite so queer.
And it should also be noted that Gates is even racist in his beer selection. Red Stripe is about the only beer you can find in America that’s made by a black man.

The cop did act ahhh..not stupid,but like most cops in this country with a power trip problem.The reason charges were dropped was not because of the president.But because he commited no crime.You cant be charged with disorderly conduct on your own property!!.The cop should have looked at his Id and said sorry to bother you ,have a good day.I am so sick of these damn jackboot assholes.Not that I support a racist jerk…but that could have been me or you and had a bad day and say a few nasty things…Being a jerk to a cop is not a crime.

It seems that a number of people thought the Cop was out of line. Lets look at the situation. The Police were called on a suspected break in. Sgt Crowley answers the call, approached Mr Gates and asked for Identification. If Mr Gates would have shown a ID that would have proven that Mr Gates lived there and was not a burglar – end of story. But no – Mr gates had to make an ass of himself. Mr Gates is a racism expert and I believe he seen an opportunity for profit. Gates is just another scumbag like Jessie Jackson.

It does not matter to me what color the Professor was. Cops are so often heavy handed because they can be. If one tries to order me out of my house, I think I shall yell a little, also. Good ones can be found, but I know there are many that are bully boys. Often, no difference in the good guys and the bad boys, except one has a badge. Too bad. We need upstanding folks to be there for all of us. I agree, some of your readers are racists.
