Even though we like to make fun of Ainsley Earhardt’s inability to pronounce the vast majority of OPEC nations, there’s no escaping the fact that she’s fine … just as there’s no denying the fact that South Carolina consistently produces some of the finest TV hotties anywhere in the land.

Just ask our founding editor, Sic Willie … after all, he had his own definition of “Working the Press,” which may or may not have included memorizing every line from the movie Up Close & Personal … and absconding with a secret key that unlocked every door to the S.C. State House.

Oh, and rohypnol.

Anyway … Ainsley, Meredith Land, Angie Goff, Brandy Bell … Rrrrrawrr, baby! (and the people said: Rrrrawrrr!!!!)

Yet while Sic Willie has long since hung up his … you know what, never mind … that doesn’t keep him (or for that matter, the lovely Mrs. Sic) from poring over the Palmetto State’s annual crop of TV talent each year.

This year, though, we selected our field of five finalists based on your calls, emails and comments. Oh, and guess what – you get to pick the winner, too!

Jillian Capobianco – WIS Columbia

Are we responsible for 95% of Capobianco’s YouTube resume views? Why yes … yes we are. Are we at all embarrassed by that? Not in the least. As it turns out, life becomes infinitely more manageable once you acquire an immunity to shame … which we’re guessing Capobianco is probably regretting right now. An Athens, Georgia native, Capobianco “is very excited about having made Columbia her new home.” Columbia, meanwhile, is friggin’ ecstatic.

Sarah DeMarco – WCIV Charleston

Last year’s reigning champ, DeMarco is gunning for her second consecutive “Corningstone Award.” Seriously people, why is smart so damn sexy? All Sarah has to do is fold her arms in front of her, quote some obscure tourism statistic and we’re Swoon Central. It’s a shame that her talents are wasted at a station that’s always “Live, Local and Late,” but her combination of looks and the light being on upstairs guarantees she’ll go places … assuming she wants to leave lovely Charleston, that is.

Dianne Gallagher – CN2 Rock Hill

Sometimes life really, really, really isn’t fair, people. Really. For example, given everything the Gods have endowed her with, Dianne Gallagher should be a raging, bipolar bitch – oh, and speak in some annoying redneck twang. That way, we wouldn’t kick ourselves every night that such a Goddess lives in our midst – what with us not being allowed to touch her and all.  As it turns out, though, Gallagher is honest-to-God one of the nicest people we’ve met in the business, and as far as we know has a clean bill of mental health. On top of that, she has hands-down the sexiest voice on the planet. Wait … we still can’t touch her? Damn!

Brooke Katz - WCBD Charleston

Remember watching the movie My Girl and wondering aloud whether or not Anna Chlumsky turned out hot? No? Uhhh … maybe that was just us. Well, had Chlumsky turned out hot, she’d be Brooke Katz, the heir apparent to the coveted Charleston newsbabe mantle. Best eyes on television, people …

Jennifer Tomazic – WLTX Columbia

Sic had the pleasure of making Miss Tomazic’s acquaintance in person during the recent Mark Sanford saga … and believe us, the pleasure was “all his.” Since then, the Cleveland native has become an indispensable component of his fantasy life, which you’re now having to read about because we fired our copy editor last week. Damn! Anyway, memo to station manager Rich O’Dell – get this girl on camera more! Your ratings will thank you.
