How our founding editor has kept himself from getting shot all these years has been the subject of much discussion in South Carolina political circles – particularly given the powerful enemies he makes on a daily basis.
Could it be that Sic Willie really is – as he is wont to say – “protected from on high by the prince of darkness?”
Or is that just him ripping off a line from The Usual Suspects?
We’ve always guessed it was the latter, but now we’re not so sure.

While the lettering is obscured by sunlight, the hat appears to be emblazoned with the logo for the National Security Agency (NSA), the world’s foremost intelligence gathering outfit. Take a look …
Yeah … we’re confused. What in the world is a loser like Sic doing “rolling wit” the NSA?
Confronted with this surreptitiously-obtained photo, Sic hemmed, hawed and demurred.
“The eagle is looking the wrong way,” he finally said. “It’s a fake.”
Informed that the eagle is facing the “wrong way” because the photograph includes an image in the mirror, Sic stammered for an explanation.
“Oh,” he said. “Oh right. Ummm …. okay … well, I … I uhhh … I did not have sexual relations with that woman, Maria Belen Chapur … err, Miss Lewinsky.”
