Sanford’s Loss: Some Other White Dude’s Gain

Thanks to S.C. Gov. Mark Sanford’s now-legendary flight for some Argentine tail, some other white dude in a suit is now the chairman of the Republican Governors’ Association. Which means that yet another white guy in a suit is now the vice chairman of the Republican Governor’s Association.

What are their names?

Yawn … and Zzzzzzzz.

The Republican Governors Association announced today that Minnesota Gov. Tim Pawlenty has been elected to serve as vice chair, a position that gives the governor a chance to raise his national profile ahead of a potential 2012 bid for president.

In his new role, Pawlenty will seek out support from Republican donors and party activists on behalf of the 39 Republican gubernatorial candidates who will be running for office this year and in 2010. Pawlenty said he will stress fiscal conservatism in the upcoming races.

“Winning these races is key to rebuilding the GOP and strengthening our economy,” he said. “We have a tremendous opportunity to transform the political map.”

Blah blah blah, blah blah blah blah. BLAH!

Seriously … if one, just one, of these cookie cutter Republican honkeys stopped regurgitating sound bites for five seconds and actually came up with an original thought – one that doesn’t sound like it was written back in 1991 by some Alex P. Keaton wanna-be – we’d eat our friggin’ hat.

In case any of you forgot, this country is under the socialist thumb because Republicans sold out their principles … and now these same flunkies want us to believe that they “will stress fiscal conservatism” in the upcoming races?
