Yay! The Lobbyists Are Still On Board
U.S. President Barack Obama’s vision of government-mandated, socialized medicine is becoming increasingly unpopular with the American people, but his administration is still optimistic that the $1.5 trillion proposal will pass.
How come?
From the AP:
Stormy weather in Congress is threatening President Barack Obama’s health care overhaul, but some see a silver lining: the lobbyists are still mostly on board.
Yeah … don’t ever forget that special interests – not the public’s best interest - is what really drives decisions in our nation’s capital.
Also, we’d like to remind people that “Republican” George W. Bush had eight years to push for free market reforms to the health care system and failed miserably to do so.
That failure now has us fighting off full-blown socialism.

Sensationalism at its best: What do you call a group insurance policy…oh yeah, socialized medicine. Premiums are lower because others participate. I know…alarm bells are ringing.

Group policies run by the free market / private sector- No alarm bells.
“Group policies” run by the folks who bring you all of the efficiences of Medicare/Medicaid and the Social Security Administration- BIG bells.
Plenty of alarmists knocking around in the right wing; no doubt. The concern over O-care doesn’t qualify as alarmism, though.

Think doctors and nurses are lousy at customer relations now? Just wait until they are all federal and state government employees. Miserable, disinterested government employees who cannot be fired or sued. That will be just great. Sign ME up for med school to the tune of $300,000 followed by years of back-breaking residency only to bring down a government-mandated wage. Yeah, that will REALLY help access to care issues.
