The Futon Myth …

futon

Refusing to waste taxpayer money or subject himself to the corrupting influences of Washington D.C., South Carolina Governor Mark Sanford slept on a futon in his office during his six years in the U.S. Congress … or did he?

The futon legend was a central component of the maverick, fiscal conservative image that Sanford created for himself as he ran for -and won – the S.C. Governor’s Office in 2002.

But did he really sleep there? Or did the former Congressman (who represented South Carolina’s First District from 1995-2001) have alternative lodging arrangements?

Stay tuned …

With just a little digging, I think we will find many more untruths in Sanford’s representations of his life and politics. Not surprisingly, Sanford has no regard for the damage he is doing to future candidates. The opposition is going to wrap Sanford around all Republican candidates in the next elections. Those with any integrity should force him out now.

Sanfraud has always been as phony as a $3 bill. The unfortunate thing is that the lemings fell for his crap. And I am not just talking about as Governor. It was just as obvious when he ran for 1st district seat.

Why is everyone surprised to learn he is a san-frand. It’s been common knowledge for years. Just no one on his gravy train would admit it.

“Stay tuned” says sic(k) willie – the former spokes-leming.

    “Fudge” says our Funding Editor.

She has reliable dust bunnies under her bed who report that sic(k) willie is in frequent direct chitchat with sanfraud. Personal cell phone only.

At this point, nothing about Sanford would surprise me. Fiscal tightwad who flies first class overseas while everyone else rides in steerage? Done. Maverick who purported to sleep in his office while actually enjoying high-end digs in DC while in Congress? Sure, I can see it. Russian spy and heir apparent to the Romanov crown? Why not?

Maybe Maria’s family owned a condo that they let a dear, dear friend use?

Nothing is gonna surprise us now. Although, I don’t condone his affair, it’s truly his business. But, the constant lies and the fact he is a phony makes him an unfit leader and just lumps him w/ everyone else, except that he holds the title as King Hypocrite. And his staff, some of who are good people (others who aren’t) bought into his BS all these years and they too are hurt by this…cause in 17 months they will join the unemployed…compliments of the SC Constitution that limits this clown.

From a poster JRA at the State:

“Jenny and boys will move OUT-of-STATE when they return from this trip..Older son, Marshall, wants nothing to do with his father is the gossip from Charleston. The July 4th weekend in Florida with her family was a BUST!!!for the GUV. Jenny is trying to keep herself together for the boys. She has been planning for new schools for this year at new home that she has bought to get boys away from him. Maybe Maria will come to be his First Lady, except she already has a new lover. Sorry Mark!!! u lose!!! Has anyone seen Jenny in Gov Mansion since his Argentina trip???”

Wondered when you would report on this. It has been known for sometime that he had a condo, not in his name, in DC, where he would go to “sleep”. Some times he would get up early enough to get back to his futon, so that staff could see him getting up!!! But, as you know him so well, tell us more! I pay taxes and I vote. I call for him to resign. I am sick of his behavior and lies. Absolutely no state employee could get away with any of this behavior.

I never believed the futon story.

I don’t think he ever slept, period.

He flew around at night and sucked blood from the homeless. He impressed Lindsey Graham with his ability to suck down thick McDonald’s milk shakes as if they were water.

During the day, Sanford hung upside down in the janitor’s closet among the mops and cleaning supplies.
