Sic And The Spin Cycle
Would you trust Sic Willie to wash your clothes? Of course you wouldn’t. He’s domestically retarded, people. In fact, one time he washed five full loads of laundry – with no detergent.
Plus, he’s a wee bit of a sniffer.
Anyway, there’s a new laundromat in downtown Columbia S.C. that caters to people like Sic (well, minus the sniffing part) as well as those of us who know how to function in the grown-up world. It even serves people who are too busy to do their own laundry and want somebody else to take care of that for them.
It’s called Wash World on Rosewood, and it’s located downtown near the place where we always go to buy fireworks … Jim something-or-other.
Alright, alright … in case the name didn’t give it away just click this link for directions.
Seriously, people. This place is awesome. First, there’s the X-Changer, which takes your money and spits out a “laundry card” that you can then slide into the various washers and dryers (all of which are new, state-of-the-art front loaders, by the way).
In other words, you don’t have to mess with getting a roll of quarters to plug into a rusty machine that looks like it might have been built before the launch of Sputnik.
Anyway, then there are these really nice people who if you stand around looking clueless for long enough come up to you and explain the difference between washers and dryers, and show you where to put the “stuff” that your wife send along with you to, you know, wash the clothes.
They also tolerate weird people, like a certain individual who counted the dryers and discovered that Wash World had “one for every county in South Carolina.” This individual then sung the counties of South Carolina to the tune of Yankee Doodle Dandy. Twice, in fact.
In addition to an easy process, new machines and nice people, Wash World also offers free WiFi, which made Sic and his Qosmio laptop very, very happy.
Here are some pics, and yes, those are cute Baby Johanna clothes in the last one …

Was this not brought to your attention while you were in college? Then again, you were in a band in the 90’s when dirty was cool. Good to see you’re catching up with the times.

I see the BodyFit sign in the background. Isn’t this the stomping ground of Sic fixation Stephanie Nye? Perhaps this is the true motivation for his hanging around this area.

This is a great location, there are several others in columbia that are just as nice. They are by far the best places to do your laundry.
