First of all, that’s just disgusting – in any culture.

Second of all, we’re hearing it won’t be long before the name of the S.C. Democratic Party’s “mystery gubernatorial candidate” is revealed.

We’ve been hearing about this alleged “game-changer” for months now – a guy who can “self-finance” and who is reportedly backed by former party Chairman Dick Harpootlian and left-leaning PR pro Bud Ferillo.

Well, it’s looking more and more like that candidate is Nelson Mullins lobbyist Dwight Drake.

Check this out …

Hmmm … domains tied to the other two rumored names we heard floating out there (SCANA’s Bill Timmerman and former SC Chamber President Hunter Howard) were still available.

Drake is a career insider who supports the wasting of tax dollars hand over fist. He has lobbied for big oil, big tobacco, payday lending, the waste industry and many other special interest clients.

All of which almost makes him a Republican in this state, when you stop and think about it …

If he has a pulse, he should have a shot after how the repubs have kissed Sanford’s ass this past month – They have effectively said they believe the office of Gov and Lt Gov are not necessary to the state and it’s hard to argue the point under the current administration.

Thank God for the stupidity of Democrats. I was worried Sheheen would get a free ride and be tough to face in the fall of 2010. Shades of 1994. Dems then had a candidate in Nick “hey buddy” Theodore that was going to be hard for the Beaz to beat. But, Joe Riley came along and had a tough fight with Theodore, leaving him battled and bruised in the fall.

Mark Sanford’s nuttiness gave the Dems a big opening, shades of 1998. But, 12 years ago, the Dems were smart enough to get behind a guy early. Looks like they have the Barack love going on too much this year to take a white boy from Camden.

Dwight Drake a game changer? Nah, I don’t think so.

Dwight Drake – the missing link?!? Absolutely.

According to The State:
Sanford work days

52: The number of business days Sanford has either been on vacation or had no official duties on his calendar this year.

1 to 3: The ratio of Sanford’s vacation days or days with no scheduled duties to work days. There have been 148 work days in 2009. On 52 of those days the governor either has been off or had no scheduled duties.

10: The number of days Sanford has worked beginning with his secret trip to Argentina. There have been 25 business days during that span, including a day off for Independence Day.

Who wouldn’t want this job? Work 2 days and take 1 off all year long, plus weekends and state paid holidays.

The Dems, the smart ones anyway, realize this next election is their chance. The GOP leadership is and has been corrupt for a long time and the GOP brand has been mortally wounded. The leaders the GOP has sent to the State are selfish and not interested in ACTUALLY serving the people of SC.

The Dems could win, if the run the right candidate. Then many RINO’s would switch parties. This is very real possibility, and SMART Dems have seen the polling and know it could happen.

Thankfully, the pols in charge over at Dem HQ seem stupid as turds. Carl Fowler is the gift that keeps giving. And Dwight Drake as a candidate? hahha.

But believe you me, if they had it together, they could change this state in 2010. Smart, white folks are fed up with Columbia. Ass them to the education establishment, and minorities…and you have a blood bath for the GOP.

Bad picture- racial overtones. Exactly what we real Republicans need to get AWAY from.

What do you mean, Dave T.? You mean that’s NOT a picture of Dwight Drake? Are you sure?
