The Violation Of Erin Andrews

Let’s go ahead and dispel two rumors right off the bat.

First, the fact that our founding editor’s lovely wife just gave birth to a daughter is not – we repeat, not – preventing him from posting the now infamous “Erin Andrews Peephole Video.” That would be the jihad-like quickness of the ESPN legal department.

Seriously, people. We’ve been up against legal threats in the past, but these guys are like the Brotherhood of the Cruciform Sword. Which we suppose would make Erin Andrews’ nude body the Holy Grail.

Makes sense.

Second, we’re absolutely not trying to be like one of those exceedingly fake Jim Rome-types – you know, the guys who publicly bemoan the invasion of the ESPN hottie’s privacy while they do the super slo-mo play-by-play during commercial breaks.

Having surreptitiously photographed Andrews in the past (we paid admission, she was walking the sidelines), we can understand the urge to take her picture. After all, she’s hot … and did we mention Sic’s wife just had a baby? Seriously, if there was ever a time for some Erin Andrews nudity …

But a friggin’ peephole camera? In a hotel room?

That’s too far. Not to mention illegal.

In a world where nothing is private, a hotel room with the door locked and the shades drawn absolutely should be. Well, unless your that dude from Kill Bill, obviously … in which case a stalker next door could have proven helpful.

*It was on the French website Dailymotion.com for weeks without anyone being the wiser (editor’s note- #$&%!!!)

*The equipment involved in filming the video cost only $600.

*Links purporting to be the video have been used to spread a malicious computer virus.

*That virus may or may not be infecting our computer right now.

*There is some sort of international manhunt going on to apprehend the perpetrator.

*We just heard a loud knock at the door …

Seriously, though, who’s the guilty party?

If we had to guess, we’d say it was “The Money You Could Be Saving With Geico.”
