Demoncrats and Republicans will never come to a working agreement on this issue. They are all looking for cake under a rock. If both parties were truly serious about health care reform, they would be working together on a bill to provide national health clinics, staffed by doctors that would have their student loans paid by the government. Low cost medicines for all should be provided by legitimate caps on cost. We pay higher prices while other countries get a discount, this should be reversed. Medical and testing procedures such as MRIs, surgery etc. should have caps to make them more affordable for all families by helping to bring down the cost of insurance. Insurance companies should be required to offer lower cost insurance according to a percentage average set up to determine premiums paid in versus payments paid out. Profits are one thing, gouging is another. It all seems pretty simple to me and and funds required for maintaining such clinics for the poor can be paid for with government funds saved by doing away with pork barrel spending. obama promised no pork barrel and immediately broke his promise by signing a bill that contained 9000 earmarks. We don’t need a universal, one size fits all, obamacare system. What we need is for the medical profession to be reigned in so as to be affordable to all legal families. The profit margins of all the medical entities have gotten completely out of hand!
Illegals in our country should not be included in any health care system we have. Illegals in our country should be required to pay for all of their health care until they are deported. Illegal is illegal and they should all be deported, period!!

Just a question, if our health insurance is already partially government owned what’s the big stink about? Most countries in Europe have government run healthcare, right? I’m no doctor but aren’t countries like Switzerland and Sweeden far more advanced in the procedures they provide. Also don’t most of those countries have shorter work weeks and more paid vacation than us?

Wake up people you should be scared that the Republicans are screwing around with this and not wanting to do anything. I am scared that Republicans are just trying to delay in hopes of winning enough seats in 2010 so they can kill it next year and then we won’t have to hear about Health Care reform, the same as 1994. That is why they pulled out the same lame incorrect chart again, just with more colors.

I feel powerless and very, very frightened… both my husband and I work in healthcare and see misuse of resources by patients; doctors practicing defensive medicine so they won’t be sued; insurance companies dictating which medications can be prescribed; ridiculous restrictions placed on hospitals and doctors by Medicare; the list goes on and on…

None of this can be solved by a House or Senate bill hastily passed. KNOWLEDGEABLE, rational heads need to sit at the table to work this out. Layering more levels of bureaucracy on the problem does not help the patient. And after all, isn’t this what it’s all about?

I’ve been living the reason you do not want Mark Sanford and Lindsey Graham involved in your health care.

I am NOT GETTING ANY HEALTHCARE BECAUSE I AM SICK……. and because I worked TOO LONG with my lifetime illness, called and legally labeled a disability.

My Administrative decision was not accepted by Judge Ben DeBerry on orders from the man who privatized Social Security.

So I LOST EVERYTHING I WORKED FOR.

I worked by the way, as a Registered Nurse for eleven years with my lifetime illness which was misdiagnosed and has never been treated because of the problems Mark Sanford created for me.

Governor you may run… but you cannot hide.

You created a crisis for me, the state and the United States Government.

COME CLEAN MARK> TELL US WHAT YOU DID AND WHAT YOU ARE DOING

Obamacare and Clintoncare are both modeled after the Canadian Medicare system. If universal healthcare is indeed so wonderful, why oh why are there Canadians who need expensive surgeries crossing the border and getting their much needed surgeries in America’s “horrible” hospital system.

FWFIV: Actually the democrats in congress are proposing a public health plan modeled after Medicare – that many informed democrats know is sure to doom the plan. You know, the Medicare health plan that the Medicare trustees recently issued a report on that said it will be INSOLVENT in just a few more years.

Note to democrats: thanks for that Ponzi scheme – those at the bottom of the pyramid can’t wait to get fucked in the ass with higher taxes and rationed benefits.

Look for the recent Bill Moyers interview with a former health insurance executive who carefully explains the process that insurance companies go through to discredit any publicly-managed plan. Every Republican Congressman who has spoken against health care reform used nearly verbatim quotes provided by insurance company marketing people. Health care is big money and to protect their interests, companies would much rather people die than have access to government-managed care. I would much rather a gov’t policy decline my claim because the procedure or meds are not cost-effective than have a private company decline it so their executives can have an extra million bonus.
