We honestly could care less at this point, but some people seem to think it’s “kind of a big deal.”
The nominees – in alphabetical order – are Pee Dee businessman Ken Ard, Columbia businessman Mike Campbell, Afghan war vet Bill Connor, former S.C. Rep. Ralph Norman and current S.C. Reps. Ted Pitts and Tim Scott.
All but Campbell and Scott have officially announced their candidacies …

I would like more time to digest the new developments with Tim Scott getting into the race. He just got elected to the House in 2008, and is now jumping into a competative primary. I’m one of those voters who raises their eyebrows when a candidate seems to be jumping from office to office too fast. Shane Massey is doing the same thing in the 3rd CD race. Just saying this may be the first thing people ask about Scott.

Governor Mark Sanford and his Communications Director Joel Sawyer today announced that Sawyer will be departing the Governor’s Office to pursue other opportunities in the private sector, effective Wednesday, August 5.

I feel very strongly that Bill Connor is going to be the next Lt. Gov.
He is working hard, traveling the state and showing everyone that he will roll up his sleeves and work for South Carolina.
