South Carolina’s unemployment rate edged up to 12.1% in June according to data scheduled to be released Friday by the S.C. Employment Security Commission.
That’s another record high, but represents a slightly smaller increase than experts originally predicted.
May’s revised unemployment rate – the nation’s third highest – came in at 12.0%.
South Carolina’s top economists estimated that June’s rate would be fall somewhere between 12.3 – 12.5%.
