Gives You FITS?

Former La Socialista (a.k.a. The State newspaper) editorial page editor Brad Warthen has a new slogan for his recently-revamped left-of-center babblefest, a.k.a. the website that nobody reads unless we link to it …

What’s the slogan?

“All the news that gives you fits.”

Not FITS, mind you, but fits.

Frankly, we don’t get it, but here’s a sample of Warthen’s daily fare …

A working journalist friend has been forwarding me the governor’s public schedule, and she’s tired of doing it, and says I should just ask Joel (Sawyer, the gov’s press guy) to send them straight to me, and I haven’t asked him yet. Do you think he’ll send me one? Am I, as a blogger, sufficiently legit? We’ll see. When I get around to it. I’m kinda busy job-hunting and stuff.

Gee … why don’t you slip him a note before gym class, Brad?

You could use pink construction paper and put “Yes,” “No” and “Maybe” boxes on it.

Good God.

BTW, we’re checking to see whether or not the University of South Carolina re-upped Warthen’s $6,000 a month consulting gig. No official word yet …
