S.C. Lt. Gov. Andre Bauer has retained the services of a prominent South Carolina lobbyist to help him manage his political destiny.
Larry Marchant, who has lobbied unsuccessfully for several years to pass a cigarette tax increase on behalf of Blue Cross Blue Shield CEO Ed Sellers, has been retained by Bauer as a consultant.
FITS pegged Marchant as a Bauer advisor in a previous post, but it was unknown at the time that he was also serving as a paid advisor.
Details of Marchant’s contract with Bauer were not immediately available.
