Lobbyist Managing Bauer Bid

S.C. Lt. Gov. Andre Bauer has retained the services of a prominent South Carolina lobbyist to help him manage his political destiny.

Larry Marchant, who has lobbied unsuccessfully for several years to pass a cigarette tax increase on behalf of Blue Cross Blue Shield CEO Ed Sellers, has been retained by Bauer as a consultant.

FITS pegged Marchant as a Bauer advisor in a previous post, but it was unknown at the time that he was also serving as a paid advisor.

Details of Marchant’s contract with Bauer were not immediately available.

I think Bauer and Marchant are both gay or at least swing both ways…this is now making sense.

Is that why an administratively awarded South Carolina citizen had to buy High Risk insurance for two years instead of the SSA honoring the administrative decision???
Blue Cross underwrite the state High Risk Group. The High Risk Group is also tied up with CVS and Caremark, for drug coverage but CVS and Caremark take months to refund prescription payments.

You see, it looks like the state of South Carolina is running the Social Security SYSTEM for the people of this state. We do NOT have access to the “real” United States of America Social Security Administration downtown.

BCBS lobby people……. hmmmmmmmm how interesting.

Word is that Howie Rich and school choice (Larry’s sugar daddy and biggest client) have kicked Larry Marchant to the curb. Why would Marchant go to work for someone like Andre? Oh wait, Marchant needs the money.

That looks like Max Metcalf on the right.

According to another blogger, Marchant is listed as Black Label Strategies on Bauer’s disclosure. Interesting name choice. I’ve heard Marchant was a member of The Mimics while attending USC — a group of frat boys who performed at parties and local clubs in black face…afros, black face, white gloves, etc. If true, all Bauer may get from Black Label Strategies is a black eye.
