Earlier this year, we revealed one of the worst-kept secrets in Palmetto politics – namely that our founding editor, the infamous Sic Willie, was going to be a daddy.
Frightening, we know …
Well yesterday the big day finally arrived, as the lovely Mrs. Sic gave birth to a perfectly healthy and happy eight-pound, six-ounce baby girl. Her name? Johanna Elyse.
Her current title? Prettiest baby ever.
Both mom and little Johanna are doing fine, and new big brother Shorty is already very, very protective of his little sister, who he has christened “Baby Jo.”
Stay tuned for much, much more (including more pictures) …
UPDATE – This just in, Kool & The Gang have agreed to insert an “H” into their 1983 hit, “Joanna” in honor of Baby Jo’s arrival.

Hey bro! She’s a god lookin’ little lady, obviously takes after mommy (thank goodness)! I have been contemplating that Johanna should also have the title of “Little Marge” since she can’t be the “Little Kahouna”… I know Mrs. Sic will love that one! congrats bro! You da man!

I have seen Baby Jo myself, and I can say quite objectively (as always!)that she is absolutely precious and perfect and gorgeous! Her mommy looks fabulous and is solidly in charge as always. As to our boy Will, well — when the nurse had to stick Baby Jo with the needle, let’s just say Daddy cried harder than she did! And not for the last time, I suspect….
You done good, young Will — much love and congrats! So proud and happy for you!

Welcome to the world baby Johanna.
Will and Mrs. Will, it is hard to add to what everyone else has said because everyone who has commented knows what a new life and your new daughter means to a brother, to a mother, to a father and to the rest of us.
Your new daughter is the future, the continuous line that goes back to the beginning of time.
Nothing can put into words the promise that a new baby brings to everyone. As a mother of four I still remember when my daughter Benjamin came into this world yesterday and suddenly she’s a teenager and making my days and nights all worth while and crazy. It’s old, but it does go by so quickly.
I guess it all equals a meaning. Your daughter will touch you and touch others and touch tomorrow and in a way that means you and your wife will be here forever.
It’s hard to describe.
Will, we are all so happy for your and your wife.
Katherine and family

Congrats!
But take it from me, having kids does NOT obligate you to grow up in any way whatsoever – in fact, it can be a good opportunity to regress.
Make the most of it.

She really is pretty!
Is she throwing her weensy weight around yet?
BTW — Did the Placenta Lady make it by?
