“Higher Educrat” Headquarters Update

The incompetent “higher educrat” scammers who are trying to put government in charge of economic development in South Carolina secretly unveiled their new taxpayer-funded headquarters last week, and while there’s no question it’s a colossal waste of money – just how much are we talking about here?

Sources familiar with the boondoggle tell FITS the price tag for the property is $2.5 million – and that’s prior to the extensive renovations that SCRA “CEO” Bill Mahoney has planned for the facility.

Yeah … while you’re wondering how anybody could justify an expense like that at a time when South Carolina’s revenues are plummeting, remember also that this is the same organization that ripped off S.C. entrepreneurs and small businesses last year to the tune of $8 million – a scam that’s ongoing, mind you.

So pardon us for calling B.S. on their definition of “economic development.”

Of course, we have S.C. House Speaker Bobby Harrell to thank for all of this – you know, the father of South Carolina’s “hyrdogen economy of the future.”

Anyway, while these pyramid schemers keep referring to this 78,000 square foot office building as an “Innovation Center,” the truth is the vast majority of the building will be devoted to SCRA’s “corporate” offices.

Which means there will be plenty of talk about innovation, just no innovation actually taking place.
