McLeod Raises $165K

Democratic gubernatorial hopeful Mullins McLeod raised $165,000 during his first full quarter of fund-raising, which we’re assuming wasn’t difficult considering he’s a wealthy tort lawyer who hangs out with a bunch of other wealthy tort lawyers.

Seriously, how hard could it be?

Oh well, at least he files his campaign reports in a timely fashion. And did we mention he also used to date Brooke Gordon?

Because that alone makes him a hero in our book.

Anyway, speaking of wealthy tort lawyers running as “change agents” on the Democratic side, Kershaw Sen. Vincent Sheheen – the Democratic front-runner – raised $278,000 during his first two months dialing for dollars.

Should be interesting to see whether he kept that pace up over the last three months.

McLeod was the first 2010 hopeful to post his second quarter fund-raising totals online … stay tuned for much more disclosure fun throughout the day.
