It looks simple enough – a shooting victim with multiple gunshot wounds is found dead next to his lover, who has one gunshot would to the head.
Murder-suicide, right?
That’s certainly the conventional wisdom forming around the death of former NFL star Steve McNair, whose body was discovered in a Nashville apartment over the holiday weekend along with the body of his 20-year-old girlfriend, former waitress Sahel “Jenny” Kazemi.
Reading news accounts of their torrid, six-month affair, both seemed smitten by their “whirlwind” romance – a relationship which saw the couple embark on numerous romantic getaways together after first meeting in January at a Nashville restaurant where Kazemi was a waitress.
In fact, Kazemi is said to have been expecting McNair to divorce his wife of 12 years, a woman with whom he had four children, and marry her.
So … how did the NFL All-Pro and 2003 co-MVP end up with two gunshot wounds to the chest and two more to the head instead?
Did he tell Kazemi he wasn’t going to marry her? Which in turn prompted her to give him the double “double tap” before turning the semiautomatic weapon on herself?
We have no clue.
In fact, if this was a Law & Order episode, we’d only be fifteen minutes into it … and there would be God knows how many twists and turns left.
Speaking of which, you can follow the drama for yourself over at The Tennessean … which is where we’re keeping it tuned for the latest.

Did it seem like it took a long time for the authorities to declare McNair’s death a homicide? With 4 bullets, two of them to the head, what else could it have been?

That is typical law enforcement policy. They had to obtain the bullets from the decedents to complete jacket and fragment analysis to verify they were the same caliber and from the same weapon etc. Besides more than likely are waiting on GSR tests to confirm the murder-suicide theory.
