Upstate Serial Killer Reportedly Shot By NC Police

South Carolina law enforcement officers are investigating whether or not North Carolina police have killed the suspect in a “serial spree” of shootings that left five people dead in Cherokee County.

Gaston County (N.C.) Police officers shot and killed an unidentified suspect early Monday morning after attempting to serve the man with a warrant.

The man fired at officers who had responded to a possible robbery, wounding one in the leg before being fatally shot.

The suspect’s vehicle matches the description of the gray, early 1990’s model Ford Explorer that authorities were seeking in connection with the South Carolina shootings.

Gaston County is located about 33 miles northeast of Gaffney, South Carolina, which is where the five South Carolina slayings took place.
