Federal and South Carolina law enforcement personnel are still searching for an elusive serial killer who has shot and killed five Cherokee County residents within the last week-and-a-half.

The shootings all took place within ten miles of each other, and two witnesses who claim to have spoken to the man are describing him to ABC News as “polite” and an “average person.”

Police released an updated composite sketch of their suspect on Friday (above), and are also looking for a gray, 1991-94 model Ford Explorer in connection with the slayings. FBI profilers have been brought in to assist the investigation.

Meanwhile, the town of Gaffney, S.C. is armed to the teeth as residents fear for their lives.

Gun sales (and church attendance) are both through the roof, local TV station WYFF reports.

A sixth body was found yesterday in the area, but police say it is not connected with the “spree killings” they are investigating.

I was just visiting my in-laws over the weekend who live just a few miles from the first murder scene and let me tell you, the police presence in Cherokee County is impressive. I just hope that this man is “taken care of” in the field instead of through our liberal court system. A plea of insanity will have him living the good life instead of real punishment.

Lets hope he gets in a shoot out with police and doesn’t shoot anybody, but he gets it like Bonnie and Clyde. I know I have all my pistols loaded if he makes it to my door.

It looks as if, with a picture like that, somebody will ID him soon. Anyway, if he is still driving that beat up old truck, I don’t think he will be able to outrun the police.

It’s very scary that this person is still nowhere to be found. We never know who will be the next victim. A person like him surely has no mercy to anyone. However, there is a reason behind these killings. Whatever reasons he may have, it doesn’t give him an excuse to not to take the consequences that he deserves.
