Word To The Wise
Since FITS’ inception, we’ve generally tried to refrain from breaking news about politicians’ private lives unless there was an abuse of taxpayer funds or some other illegality involved.
No more.
The rules of engagement have changed, people, which means that in addition to altering our editorial policy to better compete with news outlets like La Socialista (a.k.a. The State newspaper), we might also reach back into the vault to publish some of the stuff we took a pass on the first time around.
In other words, it’s open season – and we’re drawing a fresh bead.
If you have proof that a South Carolina elected official is messing around send us an email, or visit our contact page.

Will, you really want to ride this train? Some of your friends/clients could get caught up in it.

These sanctimonious bastards that are endlessly talking about this, and those pushing the story from behind the scenes, are shameless. They speak like Baptist pastors, but in real life they are General Assembly scum. Go get them, Will. Show the state what low lives these people really are. This state is in crises, and it is not Mark Sanford that brought us here…he is just the latest to the scene.
The only politicians that I respect in this are those that have kept their mouths shut, and waited for the civil authorities to act. The others, are scum.
PS…What the hell is that idiot Mark Hammond doing? Anyone with an IQ of 91 should keep his mouth shut!

I have heard from a number of Republicans that Tom Davis has had a long time affair
By fitsnews on July 2nd, 2009 at 10:46 am
“Man,”
Of course you’ve heard that rumor. Tom Davis is the heir apparent to the reform movement in this state and the Columbia jokers are posting anonymous comments like this by the hundreds.
Unless we see proof, we will continue to ignore it.

This is despicable. The standard has rightfully been misuse of public funds or illegal behavior. Witch hunts to expose someone’s private life make you no better than the National Enquirer. If an elected official runs as a bible thumper or knocks another person for sleeping with someone then their sex life becomes fair game, but otherwise it’s just gutter trash. Please change your mind.
By CNSYD on July 2nd, 2009 at 11:10 am
FITS, lets be honest now. You want proof on Davis but what “proof” do you have on McConnell, Bauer, Graham, etc.?

what a rack

CNYSD,
We merely reported what the lovely Miss Ketner had to say about those three esteemed gentlemen.
Gentlemen for whom we have nothing but respect as it relates to the decisions they make it their personal lives, we might add.

How about listing the elected official’s who are not running around and help save copy, not to mention a few dozen trees.
By SCCON on July 2nd, 2009 at 4:46 pm
So repeating unsubstantiated gossip is ok, as long as you’re not the one generating it.

Didn’t FITSNEWS break the AndersEn charade?
By CNSYD on July 2nd, 2009 at 8:47 pm
OK, if we are repeating unsubstantiated gossip, then I have heard all over Vatican City (aka Columbia)that Sic Willie is a hetrosexual.

How about local media figures? Should they not also be fair game?
By Invasion of Privacy on July 7th, 2009 at 11:11 pm
The media figure comment is troubling. Next thing you know people will be outing teachers too. Remember that people win civil lawsuits for invasion of privacy. You can’t reveal embarrassing private information about someone — even if its true — without consequence. Public officials are exempted from this, but if they’re not elected you better have a strong argument for the judge why what you say is newsworthy. Just not worth the risk.

You know, the Amazons used to lop off a teat to improve their archery.
Nothing but useless trivia.
