Sen. Stuart Smalley, Everybody
In one of those things you knew was coming but weren’t quite ready to actually believe, Stuart Smalley is officially a United States Senator.
Smalley (a.k.a. liberal comedian Al Franken) is now the junior Senator from Minnesota after that state’s Supreme Court ruled unanimously that he won last November’s election by 312 votes – out of nearly 3 million votes cast.
We’d get into the whole original count, recount, etc., but we’re pretty sure Franken stole this one.
And it obviously doesn’t matter all that much, well, except for that part about Franken’s win giving Democrats a 60-vote “filibuster-proof” majority in the U.S. Senate.
How do we know he stole the election? Since you asked, Coleman’s wife told us … right after she gave us a “blo and go.”

I don’t know – I think Franken is good enough and strong enough to do the job. And gosh darnit, people like him!

Maybe the Reptards should take a hint from the Dems: voting fraud pays!
Just ask ACORN.

You know Coleman was also who Jesse the Body beat for Gov. Maybe he should get out of politics and stick to parading his hot wife in front of cameras. I bet Bill O’Rielly is about lose his mind… I’ve heard him say on numerous occaisions, “There is no way Al Franken will EVER be a US Senator.”
BTW: Calling Franken a socialist puts your arguments on the same level as the people who went on about Bush a fascist. The rest of us shrug and mentally pat you on the head ’cause we know there’s no discussing reality with you. Then we meet later and talk like grown ups when you’re in bed.

Al Franken is actually a good thinker and writer. I believe he graduated with honors from Harvard in political science, so don’t think he doesn’t have any political chops. I suspect he is more moderate than many suspect, but time will tell.
If there is anything illegitimate about his election, I don’t know it. Minnesota has a reputation for having squeaky clean elections. Coleman got caught in the sunami, and did not run a great campaign. The Minnesota decision which ended the contest was unanimous.

It’s official – and Republicans should thank God for that – Democrats now have FULL control of the Senate and have no cover for ANY piece of legislation signed into law.
Pendulums swing and we’ve seen this all before – and like pavlov’s dog they are behaving precisely as they did after the 1992 elections – overplaying their “mandate” (as if a 2% margin of victory is considered a mandate).
Their hardest task will be to make sure the 3 low-wattage gurglers blow hard enough into their straws to register their votes – assuming the walking dead are able to make it to the Senate floor.
