I understand he may seek professional help as we all have suggested he needs. But going somewhere to get counseling and have a time out ( like the movie/singing stars do), will not help him get our trust back. Sorry, that train left the station last week. He is an embarrassment, and about to ruin what is left of out state. I was born, here, as were my ancesters, but I am ready to leave. I can not tell you how sick I think he is, and angry I am with him. He continues to flip us off every day. He MUST leave office, and now. I can not be more clear. Resign now, and stop thinking only of yourself. You are way off base, bud. I simply can not stand another minute of the narcissim, impulsive behaviors, and total disrespect for his state and the people who live here. Go back to Florida.

A therapist on another site suggested he’s looking suicidal–giving everything up…he needs help from a mental health professional now.

We need a real leader, not someone who’s working his recovery out in front of us.

For the sake of his kids and for the sake of his state and for the sake of his health, he needs to step down and go to his room.

You hit the nail on the head.

There was a reform movement in SC, but Sanford converted it to a personality cult….it became the focus of so many like the Palmetto Family Concil and SC Club for Growth to go after the people that Sanford identified as HIS enemies rather than focusing on the going after those politicians who opposed reform…many times these were one and the same…but in their acquiesing to Sanford they lost sight of the cause (reform) and became blinded by their access to power.

Now, they dont know how to keep reform alive UNLESS it is with the person of Sanford….and that is why these enablers are responsible for setting back the reform movement in SC for a decade.
