Hottest Newsbabe: It’s That Time Again

Before we get down to the purpose of this article – i.e. the solicitation of your nominations for our annual South Carolina “hottest newsbabe” competition – we’d like to preemptively announce who our founding editor is voting for (repeatedly).

Her name is Dianne Gallagher of Rock Hill’s CN2, and given the ridonkulously elevated level of hotness she’s attained, we’re not entirely sure that further “competition” is even necessary.

Seriously, people … shazzonkers.

In fact, Sic Willie would like to go ahead and apologize in advance for escaping to Argentina for a week with Dianne and lying about it to his family, his staff and to the people of South Carolina. Because no kidding, that’s happening literally as fast as we can book the tickets … (p.s. – bring the blond, Dianne … rrrrawwwrrr!)

Of course, we are kidding … if for no other reason than the lovely Miss Gallagher’s father is an honest-to-God, real life General in the U.S. Armed Forces, a true American hero who would no doubt enjoy dispatching Sic Willie with extreme prejudice – assuming anything was left of him after Mrs. Sic was done!

Anyway, Dianne – who you’ll no doubt learn more about in a few weeks when we unveil our five finalists for this coveted honor – is in Sic’s words “perfect in every way.”

Well, except for her abiding love of the Tennessee Volunteers, obviously, one of the few SEC teams that proved unable to hang with the decidedly average University of South Carolina squad on the college gridiron last fall.

Other than that, Gallagher is the complete package – brains, beauty (ahem … body) and a genuine, down-to-earth, approachable personality that you rarely find among “TV people.”

Then there’s her voice … which we just gotta say … wow.

Yet while Sic’s mind is obviously made up, he doesn’t get to decide who wins.

And besides, somebody has to review the dozens of suggestions (and literally hundreds of pictures) we’ll be receiving over the next few weeks as we whittle the field down to five finalists, which you will then have the opportunity to vote on.
