Newspaper Looking To Profit From Sanford Debacle
The newspaper that’s publishing all of S.C. Gov. Mark Sanford’s dirty e-mails brought in extra staff yesterday to sell advertisements for what is sure to be the most widely-read edition in its history, sources tell FITS.
We’re not sure how many new faces were brought in, but it’s clear that a dying newspaper is trying to milk the implosion of Mark Sanford for all it’s worth.
Do we have a problem with that?
Of course not. It’s capitalism.
Frankly, we need more – not less – of that in America these days.

Publishing the emails was unnecessary. Having said that, I admit I read some of them. He sounds like a guy ready to be done with public office, and judging by his actions, he did just that. Let the guy go back to his farm and live in peace.

Why hasnt FITSNews called for an investigation into whether tax dollars were used to underwrite the costs of this bicontinental affair?
Where are the calls for the Sanford supporters who crucified Catherine Ceips and Wallace Scarborough to apologize?
So far, your posts are referring to the “raw, emotional drama”. and the first lady’s released statement and one or two posts about how the Gov is mishandling the story, but where is the vitrol that is heaped on so many others for much smaller crimes?
Remember, it is being alleged that tax dollars where used to underwrite affair-related travel….where are your posts calling Sanford a big spending RINO who abuses the public trust?
I will tell you where these posts are….the same place your credibility is.
This site has done nothing since its inception except attack the Governors’s “enemies list” with ocassional window-dressing thrown in by soft-balled criticisms of the Governor.
I do not think the Governor should resign. While he is a vindictive twit as a person, he has been a reasonably good governor.
But as someone said yesterday…karma is a bitch. Somewhere Catherine and Wallace must be smiling.

From what I’ve been told the paper, in its current construction, might not make it to Christmas

I think PandaChris has a real point here for FITSNews. This is a turning point that for FITS and will set a lot of direction in the future for this blog. Will and his team are either going to call out Mark Sanford for what he has done in the same way they have chewed out all of his adversaries for so long or they will lose all credibility with me. I really enjoy this blog but if I can not trust the source to speak with the same honesty as you do about others then why are we reading this.

I agree with PandaChris!
For all of the stones that you have thrown, you seem to be moving to the back seat in regard to this story.
Whats up with that???

The State has proven itself to be a shameless gossip rag, not worthy to even be in a check out line at ‘Lil Cricket. Those emails were private conversations. Just because you are able to obtain them, doesn’t give you the right to publish them for all the world to see further hurting the Sanford Family. it’s called discretion…use it. I wouldn’t wipe a dogs ass with that “news”paper.

The State’s publishing these e-mails is the only way I would have ever believed any of this. But that doesn’t make it right to have done it.
Michael Savage, Conspiracy Theorist, Extraordinaire — still wants to pin the whole e-mail meddling on Homeland Security; that’s NOT unreasonable.

It is clear why this sight has not called for investigation. Both Mark Sanford and Tom Davis pay Will to do PR. That is why he has never reported on the Tom Davis affair that Tom had with an State News Paper reporter. Richard Todd reported on the affair on his radio show in Charleston Thursday. This is not Fox news it is not fair and balanced. It is very slanted depending on how much money you pay Will. Just look at all the press Nikki Haley gets. It is not due to her being a great politician in fact she has never passed one bill or reformed anything in SC. She just pays big $$$ to Will.
