Bloggers Unite!

sc-new-media

Do you have a blog (politics, pop culture or personal)? Are you a current resident or native of the State of South Carolina?

If so, then we have an announcement we think you’ll be interested in.

Eager to promote (and protect) the Palmetto State’s vibrant “Fifth Estate,” this month our founding editor formed the S.C. New Media Association. Its mission? advancing and defending the rights of bloggers – no matter who they are or what they’re blogging about.

In fact, over the next few weeks our goal will be to assemble a group of diverse bloggers from all ends of the political spectrum – a process we’ve already begun.

We know, we know … this is “political,” right?

Wrong. We’re frankly hoping that the majority of this group’s members end up being non-political blogs, since let’s face it – most people have more important things on their minds.

“South Carolina needs an organization that is committed to cultivating its budding new media scene and protecting the rights of all bloggers, irrespective of ideology,” Sic Willie said. “That’s why this group is open to anyone and everyone, regardless of their political persuasion and irrespective of what the subject matter of their blog is.”

We’ll be announcing additional details about this new group in the days to come.

In the meantime, if you have a blog you can go ahead and sign up today at SCNewMedia.org.

Membership is and will always be free and open to anyone …

Is this to solicit membership fees / funds to fight off the inevitably impending libel suit from Dick Harpootlian?

I am just asking… why would bloggers want to unite behind Will Folks? We’re known by the company we keep.
