Calling Bullsh*t
If Intel has its way, the world wide web will soon be awash in pink waves of uncertainty.
That’s because the company is launching a new software that will allow its subscribers to highlight “disputed” text in articles on any website – in pink, of all colors.
In other words, it’s like Wikipedia, except it’s going to show up on other websites.
From Venture Beat:
The Dispute Finder works like this. When you read a story where you think the information is false, you can highlight the snippet of text and report it as disputed. Then you or others can add information that shows arguments on both sides of the dispute. When other users read the story, they will see the highlighted text in dispute. They can click on it to see the arguments, and then vote up or down on what they believe is credible. They can also rate sources of information for accuracy.
Obviously, FITS haters everywhere are rejoicing at this new technology, but then again so are haters of La Socialista (a.k.a. The State newspaper) CNN, FOX News and pretty much every media outlet that passes its biases and opinions off on a daily basis as “news.”
Of course, the real winners here are holocaust deniers, the moon landing hoax crowd and people who think Elvis is still alive.
Pink, pink and pink, baby.
Look, people – we will continue to make no bones about being “unfair and imbalanced.”
As it always has been in the “marketplace of ideas,” it’s up to you to decide what you believe – and more importantly, what actions you take based on your beliefs.
We will say this, though, if any of you fools dare to dispute the hotness of Melissa Joan Hart, you’ll be hearing from us …
