In a case that has everybody in Tigertown, S.C. absolutely freaking out, a Clemson University mail van was stolen Monday afternoon and found later that night in flames.

Between 4,000-6000 pieces of mail were in the van, which according to the Greenville News (a.k.a. La Liberbad) was stolen outside of the school’s administrative office Monday and found ten hours later, still smoldering, in a wooded area of Oconee County.

The driver of the van – a University postal carrier – left the vehicle running and unattended.

Yeah …

Given that there’s no shortage of strained relations at Clemson these days, conspiracy theories abound as to whether or not this was a routine mail van theft and subsequent arson … or something else.

In fact, just say “routine mail van theft and subsequent arson” aloud to yourself a few times and see how ridiculous you feel.

I live in Tigertown, SC. I am not freaking out. So I guess I am not part of “everybody”. Exactly who is “everybody”?

My guess would be that “everybody” would not include anyone who thinks that “mail van thefts and subsequent arsons” happen often and/or randomly around these parts…

Maybe the mail truck contained the surveys of faculty who were going to not going to rank Clemson ahead of all other schools in US News & World Report? I’d dust the steering wheel for Jim Barker’s fingerprints, just to be on the safe side.

Not Sayin’ ….

Haha yeah, IM SURE President Barker stole the van and burned it. He has nothing better to do.

That van caught on fire because it had on board a pair of Kyle Parkers “hot pants” that Tammy Bowdown mailed him.

Toyota, Are sure they weren’t from Jim Holderman? He might be “Tammy Bowdown” but he had little trouble dispatching the Lamecocks and their hall of fame coaches.

Clearly the work of trained terrorists. I favor enhanced interrogation techniques on everyone ever seen close to this truck.
