The Banana Republicans Are Back!

state-house

Hide your daughters and bury the silverware, Columbia, S.C. residents … the “Banana Republicans” are back in town.

The S.C. General Assembly – a.k.a. the “Tyranny of the Legislature,” a.k.a. the “Bubba Branch” of S.C. government – makes its anti-climactic return to the Capital City today to override a few of S.C. Gov. Mark Sanford’s vetoes … oh, and to continue its efforts to pin the blame for a colossally-failed legislative session on two freshman lawmakers from Spartanburg, S.C.

Seriously, people – to hear South Carolina’s RINOcrat Majority tell it, the unmitigated failure of this year’s edition of the “do-nothing” legislature is directly attributable to the “obstructionist tendencies” of Spartanburg Sen. Lee Bright and State Rep. Joey Millwood.

Funny how the most vocal opponents of this state’s failed status quo are the first ones to get thrown under the bus …

Anyway, more on that later.

In the meantime, both the S.C. House of Representatives and State Senate convene today at 1:00 p.m., and needless to say with the arrival of Their “Excellencies” in town, our tip lines have been lighting up with fresh intel.

Stay tuned for a fun week …
